2. Festplatte wird nicht erkannt

Hallo,

folgendes Problem habe ich mit meiner Linuxinstallation:

PIII, 800 mhz
Suse 10.3

eine Festplatte an IDE 1 als Master,
eine Festplatte an IDE 1 als Slave

Beide Platten werden vom BIOS und der GParted-Live Distribution korrekt erkannt. Unter GParted können beide Platten gemountet und partitioniert werden.

Unter Suse, das auf der Master-Platte installiert ist, wird die 2. Festplatte nicht erkannt.

zeigt ebenfalls nur die 1. Festplatte an.

Hat jemand eine Idee, wie ich auch unter Suse Zugriff auf die 2. Platte bekommen kann?

Was sagt fdisk -l /dev/hdb ? - Sind der/die Jumper an der 2. Platte korrekt auf Slave
gesetzt - ja, je nach Kernel und System hat das Einfluß auf das Erkennen.
Was steht in /proc/partitions ?
Was eventuell in den logs unter /var/log - was meldet dmesg ?
Die Frage ist, wird die Platte nicht erkannt oder nur nicht im Konqueror oder wo auch
immer - nicht angezeigt ?

versuch doch mal die 2. Platte als Master an den 2. IDE zu hängen -- was schon rein aus performance gründen günstiger wäre

das habe ich jetzt dabei rausbekommen ! die sache ist, die 2te festplatte ist eigentlich in mehrere Partitionen geteilt, wird hier aber als eine angezeigt !

und bist du dir sicher das da noch andere partitonen drauf sind außer sdb1?

wie hast du die platte partitioniert ?
handelt es sich dabei um NTFS ?
wer lesen, schreiben und die suchmaschine seines vertrauens zu bedienen weis findet das hier

Partitioniert habe ich die über Windows mit Acronis Disk Director Suite 10.0 und ja es ist eine NTFS !
Bin mir auch sicher, das da andere Partitionen drauf sind außer sdb1, dameine ganzen Fotos und daten usw. druff ist !

Die Anleitung bringt mich leider nicht weiter, da ich keine Ahnung habe, wie ich das anwenden soll im bootloader !!! Habe mir das da zwar angesehen, werd aber nicht schlau, wo ich das genau eintippen soll !

1. wenn es NTFS ist kannst du davon nur lesen (auf ntfs-3g würd ich nicht vertrauen)
2. wie google funktioniert weist du ? -- doch ich will mal nicht so sein

ob das ausreicht die nur einmal hinzu zu fügen oder ob die in jedem abschnitt rein muss weis ich nicht,
genau so wenig kann ich dir sagen ob des hdb reicht oder ob du jede partition angeben musst (wobei hdb 1-4 die primären partitionen sind und hdb 5-x die logischen laufwerke)

ferner würd ich dir emfehlen die daten irgendwo zu sichern und von hand zu partitionieren - sonnst musst du das bei jeder neuinstallation oder kernelupdate erneut angeben (wenns NTFS sein muss direkt mit windows, Fat32 könnte keine dateien größer 4 GB abspeichern und linux dateisysteme laufen unter windows nicht -- aber das überlass ich ganz dir) was du bei der ganzen sache sieht ist das so nen klicki-bunti gram alles ******e ist ...

Für mich sieht es so aus, als werde die 2. Platte erkannt, aber nicht korrekt konfiguriert.
Wenn ich die Platte an den 2. IDE Kanal als Master setze und das CD-Rom umstecke, wird dann das CD-ROM automatisch auch vom System neu erkannt oder muss ich es von Hand umtragen?

Habei heute Abend gebastelt und die Platte umgehängt. Das Problem bleibt. Korrekte Erkennung im BIOS, keine Spur von der Platte unter Linux...

Ich habe atens keine Ahnung, warum mir dieser Eintrag sagen soll, dass es keine normale Partition ist. Btens habe ich beide Platten in einer Sitzung mit gparted partitioniert und formatiert. Auf der 2. Platte (6GB) befindet sich nur eine Partition.
Meinst du, ich müsste die 2. Platte noch mal neu formatieren?

habe jetzt mal mit der gparted-live-cd die Partition auf der 2. Platte gelöscht, in der Erwartung sie dann mit Yast2 partitionieren zu können. Klappt aber auch nicht...
