    USB Stick hin???

    Hallo Community,

    ich habe letztens einen Kollegen meinen USB Stick gegeben, dass er mir ein paar Sachen von seinem Windowsrechner drauf kopiert. Zu meinem Entsetzen musste ich mit ansehen, das er den Stick während des Schreibvorgangs einfach rauszog.

    Seitdem wird er von meinem System zwar erkannt, aber irgendwann kann ich nicht mehr drauf zugreifen.

    Ich habe mal "tail -f /var/log/messages" vom Einstecken bis zum Auftreten des Fehlers mitlaufen lassen:

    Ich kann daraus nicht viel lesen ist der Stick noch zu retten, oder liegts sogar an meinem Rechner??? aber meine USB Festplatte läuft ja problemlos...

    Ich habe den Sick mittels Yast-Partitionierung auch schon neu formatiert, brachte aber nichts...

    Was meint Ihr???

    Du kannst mit "fdisk /dev/sda" Folgendes versuchen:

    - alle vorhandenen Partitionen auf dem Stick löschen
    - eine neue FAT32-Partition anlegen

    Dann mit mkfs.vfat die Partition /dev/sda1 formatieren.

    Wenn der Stick dann weiterhin nicht erkannt wird, ist er meiner Meinung nach als Elektronikschrott zu entsorgen.

    Aber im Normalfall wird ein USB Stick nicht kaputt wenn man ihn abzieht nur weil gerade auf den Stick geschrieben wird... Dann ist lediglich die Datei die du auf den Stick gespielt hast defekt (nur halb drauf ^^).

    Scheinbar ist der Stick aber, gleich wie eines meiner externen Festplatten gehäuse, defekt. Da bekomme ich exakt die Selbe Meldung. Ich habs als defektes USB Gehäuse abgetan...
