    Gnome startet nicht (Fedora Core 4)

    Hallo,

    ich wollte auf meinen Server Tomcat installieren und dieser braucht verschiedene Libaries und Packete und irgendwie hat irgendeine Libary oder ein Packet einen grossen einfluss auf gnome gehabt, das Resultat ich habe keine grafische Oberflaeche mehr.

    Kann mir jemand helfen.

    Ist es wirklich gnome der Ärger macht, oder evtl. gdm?

    Probier mal aus der Konsole raus gnome zu starten und poste dann die Fehlermeldung falls es nicht klappt.

    Könnte es sein, das schon etwas läuft das das Display blockiert? ZB. gdm?

    guck mal bitte mit top ob schon gdm läuft.

    Hi!

    gnome-session kannst du so nicht starten.
    xinit gnome-session wäre richtig. Außerdem startet man sowas nicht als root.
