    Question Mindesthardwareanforderungen für Xgl+Compiz?

Mich würde mal interessieren, was die Mindesthardwareanforderungen

    • ATI Sapphire Radeon 9250 (with ati-drivers-8.23.7, Ubuntu Dapper Drake up-to-date on 2 april 2006), Distorted screen)
=====UPDATE: ATI Sapphire Radeon 9250 works! i downloaded the official ati drivers (at https://support.ati.com/ics/support/...uestionID=1176 ), and build the debs following this guide http://wiki.cchtml.com/index.php/Ubuntu then this http://wiki.cchtml.com/index.php/Ubu...allation_Guide (method 2) and this for xgl https://wiki.ubuntu.com/xglati ("method1" + "embedded xgl session" works, i've to try the other!). It just worked with the OpenSource ati drivers, but using XGL direct rendering will not work...unusable. Now, on the 13th of April with all the latest updates for Dapper, the "distorted screen" is just a rendered 3d ball, like the one of some OpenGL screensaver. Strange! On the 15 of April (all the latest updates), again distorted screen, but after a little time (o,5 sec) displaying the dapper loading logo.

    • nVidia Geforce 4 Go 420 worked fine with Ubuntu Dapper Drake

    • VIA CLE266 (xorg driver; max ~400x400 window - "No screens found" if more; Support for non power of two textures missing
