    Ist mein Brenner kaputt? kann nichts mehr brennen [erledigt]

    Hallo,
    neulich fiel mein Brenner beim Backup auf DVD erstmals auf, indem er den brennvorgang abbrach, heute, nach einer Neuinstallation (debian sarge 2.6.13.1)und zwei Monaten Zeit kann ich gar nichts mehr brennen, als erstes versuchte ich ein Image (sarge amd64) auf DVD zu brennen, es schlug fehl, daraufhin versuchte ich es mit Knoppix (2.6.11) 4.0, derselbe Fehler:

    ich würd wohl eher auf diese Fehlermeldung als auf einen kaputten Brenner tippen. Bei der Fehlerbehebung kann ich leider nicht behilflich sein.

    könnte sein, aber CD-Brennen sollte dann auch ausfallen

    ich hatte vor über einem Jahr einen Brenner, der nach ca. 5 Monaten nicht mehr brannte. Lesen konnte er noch - aber Schreiben nicht mehr. Ich habe extra wiederbeschreibbare Rohlinge (CD, DVD) für Tests und kurzezeitige Backups bzw. Datentransfers. Hast Du Lesen getestet? Für solche Fälle ist ein Live-System ideal - allerdings nur wenn man schonmal vorher sich von der Funktion überzeugt hat. Wenn Du sonst nichts verändert hast, und die Kabel auch noch fest stecken und nicht beschädigt sind, dann liegt es mit größter Wahrscheinlichkeit am Brenner. Ausbauen, falls Garantie, umtauschen lassen und hoffen, daß es nicht länger als 2 Monate dauert. Alternative, von Kumpel Brenner leihen und den ausprobieren, bzw. den "defekten" von ihm testen lassen.

    Also lesen geht, CDs brennen, wie eben gesagt, auch wieder, ich werde mir jetzt erstmal andere Rohlinge besorgen (+r und -r) und es damit nochmal versuchen, ich hatte schon den Verdacht, dass der Brenner zu den rohlingen inkompatibel ist, ich wollte auch schon die firmware upgraden, was aber mangels Windows nicht möglich war.

    unter Knoppix das selbe, nur unter Windows (WinPE mit Barts PE-Builder) funktionierts anstandslos, den Fehler bekomme ich bei allen Debian basierten Distributionen (andere konnte ich noch nicht testen), woran könnte das liegen?

    Du hast 2 CD/DVD Laufwerke im Rechner?

    laut Deiner Angabe /dev/hda und hdb ? Und beide gehen nicht? Oder mixt Du die durcheinander? Natürlich mixt Du selbst nicht, das macht nur der Computer. Du brauchst erstmal wieder eine funktionierende Version. Wo hast Du denn die Festplatten angeschlossen? Warum trennst Du die optischen Laufwerke nicht und schließt sie an eigene IDE-channels an? Teste nur ein Laufwerk! Wenn das Probleme bereitet, dann öffne den Rechner und ziehe die Kabel von dem anderen ab. Wenn dann plötzlich keine Probleme mehr auftauchen, dann weiß Du, daß an der Kombination etwas nicht stimmt. Daß es vielleicht mit M$ geht ist kein Argument. Warum?

    ps. was ist denn mit normalen CDs (bitte es sind keine Audio-CDs gemeint). Was für nicht selbstgebrannte CD/DVDs hast Du? Live-CDs, Installations-CDs?

    hda (normales DVD-Laufwerk) funktioniert ohne Probleme, es geht nur um den Brenner (hdb), die Festplatte ist S-ATA und läuft auf sda, danke für den Tipp, werde ich mal probieren, ich habe die laufwerkskonfiguration halt soi belassen, wie sie war, als ich den Computer gekauft habe. M$ habe ich nur ausprobiert, um sicher zu gehen, dass das Laufwerk nicht völlig kaputt ist. Vorhin bin ich auf die Idee gekommen, dass es an USB-Geräten liegen könnte, nachdem ich meinen Bluetooth-Stick abgezogen hatte funktionierte das mounten von DVDs wieder, nachdem ich versucht habe eine DVD+R zu beschreiben (was letztendlich die selben Fehler, wie oben produzierte) funktionierte wieder nichts mehr. Normale CDs laasen sich noch mounten (selbstgebrannte, Heft oder auch gepreste Daten-CDs), aber nicht mehr brennen. Bei den DVDs erhalte ich bei jedem Typ (Video, selbstgebrannte, Heft-DVDs) die selbe fehlermeldung.

    EDIT: Es ändert sich auch nichts, wenn man ein Laufwerk rausnimmt, oder die Jumperung ändert, oder ein anderes Kabel verwendet, etc.

    EDIT2:Knoppix 4.0 DVD kann ich über den brenner prima booten.
