    ca. 5100 fps per glxgears (ist kein Benchmark) - viel oder wenig ?

    Hallo,

    ich nutze Kubuntu 5.04. Habe bis jetzt noch nicht die Atitreiber installiert, da ich bei einer älteren Version von Kubuntu dies gemacht hatte und keinen großen Erfolg erziehlt habe.
    Ich habe mit glxgears ca. 5100 fps, wenn ich das Fenster ganz klein mache. In meinem P4 mit 2,6 GHZ befindet sich eine Radeon 9200.
    Sind die Frames jetzt viel oder wenig ? Ich kann das schlecht einschätzen, bräuchte Vergleichswerte.
    Habe Starcraft installiert und läuft im Bnet nicht flüßig! Bei CS is das noch schlimmer.
    Von daher gehe ich mal aus, dass ich die Atitreiber installieren sollte.
    Bitte gebt mir mal ein paar Vergleichswerte und Meinungen.

    Den einzig halbwegs aussagekräftige Wert von glxgears erhälst du, wenn du das Fenster NICHT in der Größe veränderst. Dann kannst du dir mal Vergleichswerte z.B. bei holarse anschauen. Aber selbst dann ist der Wert noch Abhängig davon ob das Fenster von einem anderen Fenster verdeckt wird und ob Du den Desktop wechselst und welche Farbtiefe eingestellt ist.

    also wenn das fenster auf seiner größe bleibt, dann erhalte ich 800 fps !
    das ist sicher zu wenig.
    werde dann mal die treiber installieren.
    wäre aber trotzdem für vergleichswerte dankbar! hier gibts doch bestimmt menschen, die eien radeon 9200 nutzen

    mit glxgears kann man eigentlich testen vergessen starte lieber ein 3D spiel und glotz ob es ruckelfrei läuft

    so ich hab jetzt die atitreiber installeirt.
    ging alles ohne probleme.
    und jetzt erhalte ich 240fps ! habe jetzt also eine krasse verschlechterung hinter mir. starcraft läuft auch nicht mehr.

    Mit dem ATI Treiber wäre wohl eher fglrxinfo relevant.

    die treiber sind nicht richtig installiert worden, leicht zu erkennen an

    OpenGL version string: 1.2 (1.5 Mesa 6.2.1)
    kein direct rendering und es werden immer noch die mesa treiber genommen

    such dir am besten ne anleitung, wie man die treiber installiert, google oder board suche dürftem das entsprechende ergebnis liefern

    Unter Hoary läuft das ganze ziemlich ähnlich ab. Statt den Treibern für xfree86 müssen natürlich die Treiber für X.org installiert werden. Also wieder von hier den aktuellen Treiber, in der x.org version herunterladen und konvertieren:
    
    sudo alien fglrx_6_8_0-8.10.19-1.i386.rpm
    
    Und installieren:
    
    sudo dpkg -i --force-overwrite fglrx-6-8-0_8.10.19-2_i386.deb
    
    Dann wird das Kernelmodul geladen:
    
    echo fglrx | sudo tee -a /etc/modules
    
    In der Config-Datei wird ati auch wieder durch fglrx ersetzt (diesmal in der xorg.conf):
    
    sudo sed -i -e 's/"ati"/"fglrx"/' /etc/X11/xorg.conf
    
    Stattdessen kann man auch hier eine Neukonfiguration durchführen (fglrx statt ati auswählen):
    
    sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg
    es gab keine probleme.
