ih habe den "Aldi Ipod" von Medion und würde diesen nun gerne an meinen PC anschliessen um dort ein paar MP3's aufzuspielen. Leider wird er nicht automatisch erkannt.
Was muss ich denn wo einstellen damit er erkannt wird?

Ich mach das so:
1.Konsole öffnen
2.su dein Passwort
3.mount -t vfat /dev/sda(deineUSBnummer 0,1,2) /mnt/mp3player
ohne Klammer
hoffe geholfen zu haben

Also erstmal meine Fstab:

So, ich habe nun eingegeben "mount -t vfat /dev/sda1/ /media/usb"
Worauf mir gemeldet wird das der Einhängepunkt /media/usb nicht existiert...
Steht doch aber in der Fstab, woran liegt da das Problem?
In der fstab kann viel stehen, es muss aber nicht stimmen.
Leg doch einfach das Verzeichnis an.

Hm also einfach einen Ordner im "Media"-Verzeichnis mit dem Namen "usb"?
Habe ich gerade gemacht, worauf mir folgendes gemeldet wird:
linux:/home/Gordon # mount -t vfat /dev/sda1/ /media/usb
mount: Spezialgerät /dev/sda1/ existiert nicht
(ein Pfadpräfix ist kein Verzeichnis)
Lass den / am Ende weg...
/dev/sda1 heißt das Gerät.
Fehlermeldungen sollte man schon lesen...
Und dann kommt folgendes...
linux:/home/Gordon # mount -t vfat /dev/sda1 /media/usb
mount: /dev/sda1 ist kein gültiges blockorientiertes Gerät
Das gibts doch nicht...
Vielleicht solltest du mal gucken als was das Ding erkannt wird?
Hier im Forum findet sich mehr als genug dazu.
schau doch mal nach was dmesg zu dem gerät sagt, nachdem du es angestöpselt hast.

Ahhhhhh, ich hab jetzt mal dmesg | grep usb eingegeben und mir wird folgendes gemeldet:

Also korrekt erkannt wird mein MP3-Player ja schonmal...
So, wenn ich jetzt nochmal denn Befehl zum mounten gebe wird mir gemeldet:

Vielleich hält Dein Player ganz einfach nicht den Standard für USB Mass Storage korrekt ein, dann wäre das Problem damit zu erklären. Das findest Du am einfachsten heraus, wenn Du mal ermittelst, ob es für Windows XP einen Treiber braucht. Gräte, die den Standard erfüllen, brauchen den nicht.
Mein iRiver H320 wird z.B. auch über /dev/sdx1 gemountet, da er den Standard einhält.
Davon abgesehen, die Bezeichnung "Aldi Ipod" halte ich bei einem Medion Gerät, das von Aldi verscherbelt wird, sowieso für eine Frechheit und Beleidigung für alle iPods dieser Welt.

Windows 7 x86_64 und Gentoo 2012.1 (x86_64) auf meinem Rechenknecht.
Ein HTPC steht hier auch noch herum.
Bei Windows XP wird der Player problemlos ohne Treiber erkannt...
