    quake3 1.32b -> kein sound

    hallo llinux freunde
    ich nutze slackware 9.1 mit kde 3.1
    meine soundkarte ist terratec pci128 (welche bei ut funzt)
    aber leider wenn ich quake3 in meiner konsole eingebe, bleibt quake einfach beim startetn setehn ...
    gebe ich artsdsp -m quake3 ein, dann komme ch ns spiel aber kein sound da ...

    hmmdas in http://www.linuxforen.de/forums/sho...rtsdsp+Binaries stehende, das hat mir nicht weitergeholfen, weil es das gleiche ist wie artsdsp -m quake3 ...
    -> man kommt zum lgewichen ergebnis, ich habe immer noch kein sound in quake 3 ...

    ja der ist richtig, da fällt mir dann nur noch ein im KDE Kontrollzentrum die Echtzeitpriorität auf ca 92 ms herunterzustellen und das automatische Abschalten auf etwa 5 Sekunden. Desweiteren alle Programme die Sound benötigen wie xmms etc vorher auszustellen.

    So steht es bei mir auch und ich habe Sound in quake3, allerdings ist mir aufgefallen, das Deine pak0.pk3 gross geschrieben ist. Benenne mal die PAK0.PK3 in pak0.pk3 um.

    Stell bitte erstmal den ARTSD ab und stelle über einen Mixer deiner Wahl die Lautstärke ein.

    Sollte dann bei Quake ]|[ Arena immer noch kein Sound zu hören sein, wäre es nicht schlecht Genaueres über deine Installation zu erfahren (also Treiber/-version, Kernel, usw...).
    Peer-to-Peer-Telefonie mit Java gibt's nicht? Doch: Javafon!

    Hi,

    ich nutze ebenfalls Slackware ( 10.0, seit 9.0 ) und hatte das Problem dass ich nicht gleichzeitig Quake3/RtCW spielen und dabei im Teamspeak sprechen konnte.

    Es handelte sich also um ein Problem bezüglich Full duplex ( was meine Karte einwandfrei unterstützt ).

    Eventuell hilft dir meine Problemlösung weiter. Allerdings nutze ich kein KDE und soweit ich sehe auch keinen Soundserver, aber einen Versuch ist es ja wert.

    Folgende Zeile steht bei mir in der /etc/rc.d/rc.local, du kannst die Befehle aber natürlich auch direkt in der Konsole eingeben.

    echo "wolf.x86 0 0 direct" > /proc/asound/card0/pcm0p/oss
    echo "wolf.x86 0 0 disable" > /proc/asound/card0/pcm0c/oss
    Das Ganze musst du natürlich noch anpassen.

    Ich weiss jetzt momentan leider nicht mehr genau was das Ganze eigentlich bewirkt, dazu ist es zu lange her dass ich dieses Problem ( gelöst ) habe.

    hi - hast du schon eine lösung dazu?

    ich habe exakt das gleiche problem, wenn ich teamspeak und enemy territory
    (et) gleichzeitig laufen lassen will.

    starten teamspeak mit artsdsp -m --> geht wunderbar (no na ned - ist ja die
    erste anwendung für das sound-device - das muß gehen)

    wenn ich nun et mit artsdsp -m starte, dann heißt es "sound system is muted"

    starte ich et ohne, dann will sich et das sound-device für den alleinige zugriff
    reservieren und starte nicht. et warte dann bei ------- sound initialization -------
    solange bis keine andere applikation mehr das device blockiert.

    debian/unstable + kernel 2.6.8 + kde 3.3 + alsa 1.05

    nach 1 Tag probieren hab ich dieses ding zum laufen gebracht, dh. sämtlicher sound läuft bei mir über artsd.

    im Startscript vom Teamspeak:

    artsdsp -m /opt/TeamSpeak2RC2/TeamSpeak.bin $*
    im Startscript von Enemy Territory:

    nach dem das alles nichts genützt hat und immer noch die bekannte Meldung beim ET start gekommen ist

    , hab ich mal mit dem artsd rumgespielt.

    im KDE-Kontrollzentrum unter Sound & Multimedia, Sound-System kann man ja den artsd einrichten. Meine Einstellungen:
    Allgemein:
    * Soundserver mit höchstmöglicher Priorität betreiben (Echtzeitpriorität)
    * Soundpuffer auf 8 Millisekunden
    * Automatisch abschalten und inaktiv nach 5 Sekunden
    Hardware:
    * Audio-Hardware: ALSA
    * Vollduplex
    * Qualität 16Bit

    Das hat aber nicht von Anfang gefunzt. Ich hab mal bei Hardware auf "Automatisch feststellen" gestellt und Vollduplex ausgeschaltet.
    alsa neugestartet und es ging. ??? komisch - Einstellungen wieder zurück und es ging auf einmal auch mit dieser Einstellung.
    Die obige Meldung kommt bei ET zwar trotzdem, ist aber nur, weil ET nicht direkt auf das sound-device zugreifen kann.

    Als Media-Player verwende ich Kaffeine. Dort mußte ich unter "xine-Engine-Parameter" bei den audiodriver von "auto" auf "arts"
    umstellen, damit ich nebenbei auch noch etwas Musik horchen kann.
