    Unhappy Suse 9.1 bleibt hängen

    Hallo,
    hatte suse 9.o installiert, onlineupdate war auch drauf. System blieb nach ein paar minuten hängen ( eingefroren nur reset half).----> Faxen dicke suse 9.1 installiert ( acpi-off ) ---> onlineupdate mail eingerichtet siehe da gleiches Problem wie vorher nach spätestens 10 Minuten ist Feierabend! Der Mauszeiger lässt sich zwar noch bewegen anklicken oder Tastatureingaben (stg alt backspace ) bringen aber nichts mehr.
    System: Athlon 2400+ Gefoce4 4200 512 Mb onboard sound und netzwerkkarte.

    Also zunächst: "aufgehängt" heisst nicht immer aufgehängt ... Versuche zunächst ob wirklich das gesamte System hängt, indem du versuchst mit Alt+Ctrl+F2 auf eine Konsole zu wechseln.
    Ausserdem wäre es vielleicht "sinnvoll" mal in der /var/log/messages sowie ~/.xsession-errors nach auffälligen Meldungen zu suchen.

    Ok, das hilft dir vielleicht auch nicht wirklich, aber irgendwie muss man zunächst versuchen ein bisschen mehr Infos zu erhalten.

    Versuche auch mal testweise ein anderer DE/WM um zu schauen ob es vielleicht an dem liegt, dass sich dein System aufhängt, denn dann könnte man das Problem noch weiter einschränken.

    Eine kliztekleine Idee die mir jetzt noch eingefallen, wenn du auf eine konsole kommst, kannst du ja mal mit ps, ob ein Prozess zum zombie geworden ist, vielleicht lässt sich daraus auch was schliessen.

    Zuletzt als "kleiner" Tipp: Bevor du den Resetknopf drückst immer noch AltGr+SysRq+s, damit (versucht) der kernel dann wenigstens noch die daten "im Buffer" noch auf die Festplatte zu schreiben. (Ok, dafür müssen aber diese SysRq-keys im kernel aktiviert sein, aber die sind es glaubs bei suse)

    Sorry, für die schlechte Antwort, habe aber mir das so überlegt, und vielleicht bringt es was.

    Hmm, wenn ich das richtig sehe, dann hängt er sich nach dieser Fehler auf, richtig? Leider habe ich auch keine Ahnung, was das ist, und ob es wirklich abhängig von diesem Fehler zum Stillstand kommt.

    Tut mir leid, kann (momentan?) nicht weiterhelfen, aber es weiss sicher jemand anderes Rat, sorry.

    Netzteil geht ? (typische Fehler für kaputtes oder zu kleines Netzteil)
    Wann hängt er sich auf ? Sobald Leistung gefodert wird?

    Ich hatte das mal mit einem PC unter SuSE 8.0 - 8.2. Unter Windows war alles palletti aber SuSE blieb immer hängen. Völlig unspezifisch, also nicht reproduzierbar nach einer bestimmten Aktion oder so. Es blinkten immer die Tastatur LEDs und dann war Feierabend. Die ersten Vermutungen waren natürlich, dass die RAM-Module oder die Grafikkarte im Eimer sind. Testprogramme zeigten mir jedoch nichts an und auch der Austausch hat nichts genützt. Irgendwann bin ich dann völlig entnervt an die CPU gegangen und es viel mir auf, dass die nicht richtig in der Halterung war. Also raus und wieder rein, mit nem Gummi fixiert und schon ging es. Das war übrigens die kurze Story. Ich habe so viel Fehler gesucht, Software- und Hardwareseitig und dann war es eine wackelige CPU.
    Mein Tipp: Sich mal die Mühe machen fast alle Komponenten im PC, die lose sein könnten, zu überprüfen
