    Mount-Problem einer externen Harddisk (USB2.0) unter SuSE 9.1

    Liebe Community

    Ich bin ziemlich neu auf dem Gebiet Linux. Auf meinem Notebook habe ich SusE 9.1 installiert und hab eigentlich alle Komponenten zum laufen gebracht.

    Leider habe ich ein kleines Schönheitsproblem mit dem mounten meiner externen USB 2.0 Harddisk (ca. 80GB) welche mit NTFS formatiert ist. Beim Systemstart versucht SuSE anscheinend diese Harddisk automatisch zu mounten. Dies schlägt allerdings Fehl. Wenn ich versuche auf die Harddisk zuzugreifen erhalte ich folgende Fehlermeldung:

    Ordner /media/usb-storage-0000000000002431:0:0:0p1 lässt sich nicht öffnen.


    Der Befehl mount zeigt aber, dass diese externe Harddisk eigentlich automatisch vom System gemountet wurde:

    Wenn ich nun "umount /media/usb-storage-0000000000002431:0:0:0p1" eingebe und anschliessend "mount /media/usbstorage" eingebe kann ich auf die externe Harddisk zugreifen...

    Meine Vermutung geht dahin, dass SusE automatisch versucht diese Harddisk zu mounten. Wie kann ich dies unterdrücken, so dass nur mein fstab Eintrag "/dev/sda1 /media/usbstorage ntfs user,noauto,umask=0 0 0" berücksichtigt wird? Es ist auf die Dauer etwas mühsam erst immer umount und dann den mount Befehl zu benutzen...

    Smile Problemlösung bzw. Problemumgehung

    Ich habe nun selbständig eine Lösung für mein Problem gefunden. Durch das umwandeln der NTFS-Partition zu einer FAT32-Partition, funktioniert der mount-Vorgang von SuSE 9.1 jetzt korrekt. Damit kann ich zwar die theoretischen Vorteile von NTFS nicht mehr nutzen. Das habe ich aber sowieso nicht getan. Dank FAT32, kann ich nun auch auf meine externe Harddisk schreiben
