    Radeon 8500+Red Hat 9= ERROR

    ich habe red hat 9.0 und versucht, de firegl treiber (ati.com) version 3.7.0 zu installiere.
    auf ein

    rpm -Uhv fglrx-glc22-4.3.0-3.7.0.i386.rpm
    folgt:

    lsmod zeigt das fglrx nicht geladen ist, modprobe gibt aus dass das modul fglrx nicht gefunden wurde....

    wer kann mir helfen?

    Was gibt denn /sbin/depmod -ae aus? (als "root"-User ausgeführt)

    Vorausgesetzt, dass du eine Möglichkeit hast, die Updates von Red Hat einzuspielen, probier mal, den ATI-Treiber für den aktuellen Red Hat Kernel zu bauen (bei Red Hat Linux 9 ist das zz. 2.4.20-30.9). Du brauchst versionsmäßig identische kernel- und kernel-source-Pakete.

    Diesem Hinweis solltest du mit rpm -e --nodeps XFree86-Mesa-libGL und erneuter ATI-Treiberinstallation begegnen, allerdings erst, wenn du dir sicher sein kannst, dass der Treiber läuft (da die Lauffähigkeit zahlreicher Programme von libGL abhängt).

    das zweite Log ist definitv nicht die Antwort auf make.sh.

    Soweit ich sehen kann wird das Kernel Modul gebaut,
    aber dann klappt das Laden nicht. Typischerweise sind
    entweder bestimmte Config-Bedingungen des Kernels nicht erfüllt
    oder aber die auf die Kernel-Sourcen angewandte Config passt nicht zum Kernel.

    Das Einfachste wäre wohl, wenn du dir einfach aus der gerade berwendeten
    Config ein eigenes Kernel machst und das dann verwendest.
