Hallo, ich binn ein Linux einsteiger, ein Freund hat mir SuSE empfohlen (hab' jetzt 7.1 mit Kernel 2.4.0)
Beim Linux-Setup kam der Punkt an dem man die Soundkarte installiert, da hab ich meine ess es1869 ausgewählt, und ich hab' auch einen Test-Ton gehört. Aber wenn ich jetzt Boote bekomm ich ne Fehlermeldung (ziehmlich lang, kann ja mal kopieren, wenns notwendig ist).

Was soll ich tun?
ist SuSE überhaubt das beste Linux (ich meine YaST2 überzeugt mich nicht --> wahnsinnig langsahm!!!!!)

Also die Fehlermeldung wäre schon nicht schlecht. Mandrake 8.0 ist nicht schlecht :)

Wenn Du mit Yast2 Deine Karte einrichtest, sollte Deine Karte auch erkannt werden. Hattest Du denn vorher eine ältere SUSE drauf und wenn ja, hat denn da Deine Karte gefunzt? Hab selber kein SUSE mehr drauf, hatte aber auch mal so ein Problem, dass meine Soundkarte nicht erkannt wurde. Wie gesagt, versuch es nochmal mit YAST oder YAST2 und boote dann neu.

Noch was. Suse hat eine fast unübertroffene Supportdatenbank, wo Du fast alles geregelt bekommst. Hier ein Link, der Dein Problem bestimmt beheben wird.

wenn ich jetzt noch mal YaST2 öffne und GENAU meinen soundchip (hab' extra noch mal den PC aufgeschraubt und abgeschrieben) auswähle komm ich gar nicht mehr zu den Punkt, an dem man die funktion überprüfen kann, so wie beim Linux Setup.

Und SuSE 7.1 ist mein allererstes Linux (hab' Kernel 2.4.0, kanns daran liegen? mann kann ja auch 2.2.18 installieren und dann meim booten auswählen)

noch was, einfreund riet mir dazu oss auszuprobieren, hab's aber nicht bei den Paketen gefunden, kanns sein dass es bei 7.1 nicht dabei ist?
WordPerfect hab' ich auch nicht gefunden, ist das dabei?
