Olla... da binn ich wieder mit nem neuen Prob.

Also ich habe es mit einer Knoppix CDs (Debian) geschaft einen Terminal-Server einzurichten. !!! echt easy... *freu ganz doll*

Nun meine Frage gibt es solch einen Terminal Server auch unter Suse 8.2 Proff ????
Weil auf dem Rechner nun eigentlich Suse läuft kann ich nicht immer von der Knoppix CD Booten.

was verstehst du unter terminal server?
nur einen x-server,
oder einen diskless-client (oder so) über netzwerk booten

Darunter verstehe ich das ich zb. ein Notebook mit der Bios option "BOOT FROM LAN" starte und dieses dann auf meinem Suse Rechner was findet mit dem es Booten kann.

Das NB hat keine HDD und kein Floppy und kein DVD nur im Bios ....

Ich glaube das nennt sich Diskless-Client....

hi, da bin ich wieder :D


also ohne festplatte und cd

es gibt hier mehrere möglichkeiten:
von diskette booten,
mit eprom auf NIC booten,
oder der laptop unterstützt es (ist auch ein eprom denk ich)

auf dem server brauchst du ein dhcp-server, der für eine bestimmte MAC-Adresse eine IP hergibt, und ihm sagt welchen kernel er holen soll,
den kernel holt er über tftp (kleiner ftp-server)
daraufhin bootet er den kernel(muss für Netzwerkkarte angepasst sein),
holt sich eine ip,
mountet ein NFS-Root-dateiensystem (hier hab ich noch probleme :rolleyes: ) --> man braucht einen NFS-Server

und startet dann den x-server auf dem client und verbindet mit dem server
hierfür würden sogar 486 reichen


ich hoffe das war mal ein überblick, und könntest du hier rein schreiben wenn es funktioniert? :D

Besser spät als nie.

Also das Prinzip habe ich nach stundemlangen lesen verstanden.
Bei knopppix ein Handgriff... Aber egal.

Ich hab den DHCP Server installiert. ok
Beim Starten des Servers kommt aber ne Fehlermeldung.

Uf. so... die conf datei verstehe ich natürlich ncht. Leider finde ich auch nichts in Deutsch geschriebenes um das m,al nachzulesen und zu verstehen. !!!!
Gibts nicht ne standart DHCP.CONF ??
