Hi,

ich habe mir gestern meinen Server neu aufgesetzt, und dann auch Samba installiert.
Allerdings verschicke ich innerhalb des Netzwerkes Daten mit sehr langsamen Geschwindigkeiten.
Ich brauche fuer eine 5MB Datei 20 Minuten.

Kann mir bitte wer helfen?
Ich bin in einem 100Mbit Netzwerk und meine Konfiguration ist folgende:

Die NIC läuft grundsätzlich mit 100MBit? (mii-tool)

Zeigt ifconfig Fehler? Wie sieht es mit FTP aus, braucht das auch so lange?

IFConfig zeigt ueberhaupt keine Fehler und wenn ich per FTP etwas auf den Server lade, versende ich Daten mit ~8-10MB/s

Dieser Fehler wurde hier im Forum schon mal diskutiert, nur weiss nich nicht ob es eine Lösung gegeben hat. Suche mal danach, wenn du es noch nicht getan hast.

speed.txt gelesen? warum die anderen beiden dann nicht aktiviert?

Es stimmt, dass der Fehler schon mal diskutiert wurde, wenn auch mit leicht anderen Symptomen.
Da hatte nämlich ich das Problem ;-)

Soll ich dir jetzt auch meine Lösung verraten????
Naja, klar,wir sind ja in einem Forum ;-)

Also bei mir war die Netzwerkkarte des Servers kaputt, was zu seltsamen Verhaltensweisen geführt hat. Ich konnte keine Shares mehr öffnen, die mehr als 10 Objekte enthalten haben.

Also - tausch erstmal die NIC aus, und schau dann weiter.

Bei mir ist samba auch sehr langsam und habe schon 10 verschiedene Nic´s
durch mii-tool sichergestellt daß ich 100 mbit habe läuft in halb dublex auf beiden rechnern wenn ich den samba pc mit nt hochfahre funtzt alles wunderbar
unter samba fühlt es sich wie 10 mbit an keine ahnung wie ich das genaue tempo ermittel aber vieleicht kann mir das ja auch noch jemand posten

Am einfachsten ist es, eine hinreichend grosse Datei, so etwa 500MB zu kopieren.
Das ganze natürlich ein paar mal wiederholen. Unter WinDOS am besten von der Kommandozeile aus timen:
eine Datei ret.txt erstellen, die nur ein CR/LF enthält und dann in einem batch-file in etwa wie folgt verbraten:
if exist bigFile delete bigFile
time < ret.txt
copy x:\bigFile c:\bigFile
time < ret.txt
Ich hoffe, dass das Forum nicht das "kleiner als" Zeichen zwischen 'time' und 'ret.txt' herausfiltert.
Auf dem Sambaserver derweil die Last betrachten (top, ntop).
Nach Möglichkeit mit mehreren clients gleichzeitig den Test machen.
Der Test ist wahrscheinlich schweineungenau, aber bei mehreren clients sollte klar werden, ob der Server bei 10MB zu macht oder nicht.

Nun mein Problem kenn ich jetzt eine copy auf dem server ist genaus langsam
ist auch nen lahmer rechner p233 mit lowcost board auserdem ide platte über yamaha adabter auf 2940 A sollte wohl daran liegen

Ich habe so ein ähnliches Problem, nur dass die Geschwindigkeit nur von einem Rechner aus so langsam ist, von den anderen gewohnte 100Mbits.
Woran kann das liegen?
Die Ports am Switch hab ich durchgecheckt, da ist keiner kaputt (hatte ich schonmal). und die netzwerkkarte des betroffenen rechners funktioniert auch.
