Hilfe !! (Achtung absoluter Linux Newbie!!!)
Habe einen Linux-Server (SuSE 8.0 Prof), den ich u.a. als File-Server für meine WinXP-Clients nutzen will. Habe es auch schon geschafft Samba zu starten (nur leider noch nicht automatisch :( ) und ich kann auch vom Client auf den Server zugreifen. Manchmal verlanngt der Server aber ne Anmeldung (wo gebe ich den User und das Passwort an), manchmal aber auch nicht.
Es soll 2 User geben, die auf den File Server zugreifen. Tlw. soll es Verzeichnisse geben, die nur von einem entsprechenden User zu sehen sind, aber auch Verzeichnisse die alle User sehen sollen. Wie stelle ich das ein (und wo !!).

Hi,
lies Dich ersteinmal durch einige gestellten Fragen durch. Oft hatten andere Benutzer genau das gleiche Problem wie du. Die Doku zu Samba ist wie die Hilfefunktion hier sehr empfehlenswert. Falls du danach noch Probleme hast, bekommst du unser Ohr :)

ne ganz dumme vermutung:

die rechte des freigegeben ordners.
sind die io?

hab bei mir stundenlang in der conf gesucht dabei waren "nur" die rechte falsch

Bitte eine genaue Fragestellung.
Wenn du von dieser Materie noch keine Ahnung hast les dich bitte mal etwas ein.
(es gibt schon genug ähnlicher Postings im Forum, dann gibt es noch google und www.samba.org)
Es gibt verschiedene Möglichkeiten um auf einen SMB Server zuzugreifen.
