Creatures Docking Station!

Hallo Leute!
Wollte gerade Creatures installieren, das hat auch geklappt, nur das Spielen geht net! :(
Als root kommt eine Meldung das man es nicht als root spielen sollte. Als User gibt es: "dirname hat zuwenig Agumente!"!?
Ich habe den DL installer probiert, das *bz2 Paeckchen und von der L-U CD 9/2001, bei allen dreien das selbe!
Hat jemand einen Hinweis?
System ist Suse 7.3 geuppt auf 8.1!

rechte setzen.
das man als root nicht daddeln sollte ist völlig richtig.
wie gesagt, prüf mal die rechte.

Hallo!
Als root nicht daddel is schon klar, war auch nur ein Versuch!;-))
Das diese klasse Meldung kam, liegt wohl daran, das ich als Sprache deutsch eingestellt habe, nun werden mir auch die Terminalfenster ins deutsche uebersetzt.:-) Sollange die Meldungen nicht so sinnlos sind wie manche Gebrauchsanweisungen,....
So ich habe mal die Rechte, fuer /usr/local/games, geaendert.
Wenn ich nun, ueber die vorhandene Installation ein ./dstation-install mache (was ich vorher schon als root gemacht hatte kommt folgendes:

link to a different place. The installer is trying
to make a link to /usr/local/games/dockingstation/dstation-install.
The current link is:

Either delete this link, or install the link to
another directory by setting BIN_DEST to a path
before running this script.

e.g. INSTALL_DEST=~/DockingStation BIN_DEST=~/bin ./dstation-install

Ok, der Symbolische Link sollte wohl nicht das Problem sein? Mann kann es ja auch gleich aus dem "games" Verzeichnis herraus starten. Aber ich hatte den Link auch geloescht, dann kam sowas dabei herraus:

first to become root before starting the installation.

Hm, ich loesche den Link /usr/local/bin/dockingstation, fuehre das Installationsskript aus, daraufhin wird der selbe Link angelegt und ein paar Zeilen weiter ist dann der Link, welcher vom Programm selbst angelegt wurde falsch?
An welchem Punkt bin ich jetzt nicht mehr mitgekommen?
Wenn ich mir den Readme.txt anschaue, oder die Installlationsanleitung auf deren HP oder auch im L-U, dann steht dort: ./dstation-install und danach dockingstation, fertig.
Ich bin zu muede, micht in diesem Moment an Fehlermeldungen zu klammern und zu zerpfluecken! Lege mich erstmal eine Stunde hin, vielleicht mache ich dann mein teilweise misslungenes Suse upd. platt und installiere 8.1 frisch. Vielleicht loesen sich dan die Probleme von selbst!?
