Redhat 8.0 Nvidia Treiber

Ich poste hier mal stellvertretend für SubZero, der versucht hat die nvidia beschleunigertreiber zu installieren und jetzt kein X mehr starten kann *G*

Also sein Problem ist folgendes: er hat Redhat 8.0 kann aber die Nvidia Treiber nicht installieren, sowohl die rpms als auch der src-tarball bricht mit fehlermeldungen ab.
Gibt es bei Redhat 8.0 irgend etwas besonderes zu beachten? (ich hab kein redhat und kenn mich deshalb damit auch nicht aus)
Leider kann ich im Moment nichts näheres dazu sagen, hoffe aber das einige Redhatler mal sagen können wie man bei RH8.0 vorgehen muss. thx

Soo... ich kann jetzt X wieder starten aber Immer noch OHNE 3d BESCHLEUNIGUNG!

Falls man noch spezielle Infos zu meinem Sysrem Bruacht:

AMD Athlon (1236MHZ)
Gainward GForce2 MX/400
512 MB DDRAM

Habe bis jetzt die Treiber auch nicht zum laufen gebraucht ;(
Werde es später sicher Mal wieder ausprobieren....!

Die Suchfunktion hätte Dir schon längst geholfen. Das Thema Compilierung und Installation von nVidia Treibern auf Red Hat Linux [8.0] gab es doch schon mehrmals.

Wenn Du meinst, bei Dir sei es vollkommen anders, zeig doch mal detailiert auf, daß alle Anforderungen für ein rpmbuild --rebuild auf die src.rpms bei Dir erfüllt sind. Das heißt, zeig in Form von Auszügen auf Kommandozeile, wie Du überprüfst, daß Du alle notwendigen Pakete installiert hast, z.B. den Kernel Source und den Kernel, beide in korrekter Version.

Mach es bitte sorgfältig und nachvollziehbar. Ich bin mir sicher, da springt schnell ein Helfer ein.
