läuft mysql überhaupt??

hoppla mysql läuft nicht.
mit welchem befehl starte ich das ganze?
installiert ist es
[root@bafh mysql]# mysqld

nur wo muss ich da schauen?
oder sollte ich mysql nicht als root laufen lassen?
welche distribution benutzt du denn?
anhand der pfade tipp ich auf redhat ..
ein
service mysqld start sollte dir helfen ... mysql will nicht als root laufen .. sondern nur als unprivilegierter user ...
mit
chkconfig mysqld on kannste redhat beibringen das mysql bei jedem start angeworfen werden soll :-)
zut mir leid, ich hab ein zwei tage lang meine post nicht angeschaut :rolleyes:
also ich hab mandrake 9
unterdessen läuft das ganze. ich hab alle packete, die mit mysql zu tun hatten deinstalliert, und nochmal installiert (inklusive benchmarkzeugs etc.)
und jetzt funktioniert das ganze.
was gefehlt hat, weiss ich allerdings nicht.
