Problem, Mauszeiger und /etc

Hallo Leute,

ich bin ein Linux Newbie und habe da zwei Probleme. Ich habe mir SuSe Linux 8.1 installiert und es läuft bis jetzt auch alles wunderbar, ausser das ich den Mauszeiger nicht angezeigt bekomme. Ich kann zwar die Maus bewegen und Fenster usw. öffnen, jedoch wird kein Mauzeiger angezeigt.

Mit der SUchfunktion konnte ich schon ähnliche Probleme finden. Dort wurde darauf hingewiesen, das man ein Datei im /etc Verzeichnis bearbeiten soll.

Dies habe ich versucht, doch leider kann ich das /etc Verzeichnis unter dem Hauptverzeichnis nicht finden. Ich bin auch als root angemeldet und das Verzeichnis /bin ist z.B. auch zu sehen.

Habt Ihr einen Tip was ich machen kann um in das /etc Verzeichnis zu wechseln?

oder wie ich den Mauszeiger anzeigen lassen kann?

Was?! Du hast kein /etc?!
Das geht doch wohl nicht oder? In /etc sind die wichtigsten Konfigurationsdateien gespeichert, unter anderem fstab, ohne die du unmoeglich starten kannst.

ja, das habe ich mir auch gedacht.

Die Installation verlief ohne irgendwelche Fehler und sonst kommen eigentlich auch keine Fehlermeldungen. Beim Linux Start wird auch etas angezeigt mit /etc/..., das sieht aber nicht nach einem Fehler aus.

Jedoch bekomme ich im root Verzeichnis nicht das /etc Verzeichnis angezeigt. ICh bin auch als root angemeldet.

Ich weiss ja nicht, ob ich etwas falsch mache oder noch etwas mounten muss :mad:

Ich habe genau dasselbe Problem mit dem Mauscursor, der nicht angezeigt wird.

Welche Datei muss man denn wo wie ändern, dass man den Cursor wieder sehen kann ?

öffne mal die konsole und gib
cd /etc && ls -l
ein.
und sag uns was dann drann steht.

IMHO gehört dieser Beitrag übrigens ins X-Konfigurations Forum.

Welche Grafikkarte hast Du denn? Gab's nicht eine "Option HWCursor" Geschichte *rumrat*

Der xburner hatte das Problem, dass er kein /etc hatte.
Ich bin jemand anders, der aber genau dasselbe Problem wie xburner hat *g*
(Das mit dem keinen sichtbaren Cursor haben)

Könnt ihr denn damit was anfangen und mir weiterhelfen ?
Welche Datei muss ich denn in /etc verändern, und wie ?

So'n System ohne Cursor macht auf Dauer irgendwie keinen Spass.....


Meine Maus ist eine Noname "Smart Mouse", PS/2, 2 Tasten + Scrollrad, also nix Besonderes.
Meine Grafikkarte ist eine GeForce 2 MX. Läuft einwandfrei, hab aber noch kein Online-Update gemacht.....

Ich habe jetzt auch mein /etc Verzeichnis gefunden. :D
Das lag wohl an der falschen Eingabe der Befehle...

Jetzt habe ich aber das Problem, das Linux nur noch aus der Kommandozeile gestartet wird.
Das kam nachdem ich mich unter KDE abgemeldet habe
