Hi,

habe nach der Installation von Suse 8.1 und Nvidia Treiber + 3D-Aktivierung in Yast nur die Möglichkeit zwischen 800x600 und 640x480 Auflösungen zu wählen. Der XServer sagt in der Log-Datei , es sind die einzigen valide Auflösungen. NV-Treiber von XFree funzen ganz gut - aber Nvidia. Weisst jemand eine Lösung ?
Habe auch keine Probleme mit IRQs oder sonstigem.
Habe eine Leadtek 4200 GK.

Poste doch die relevanten Zeilen aus der /var/log/XFree86.0.log und die Sektion "Modes", "Monitor" und "Screen" aus der /etc/X11/XF86Config.
Ev. hast du eine falsche Frequenz angegeben.

Nachdem der Treiber das DDC-Modul geladen hat, verweigert er die entsprechenden Auflösungen. Es scheit als lese er tatsächlich den Monitor aus um die erlaubten Auflösungen zu ermitteln.
Obwohl der Monitor die entsprechenden Frequenzen vertragen soll, würde ich mir mal von "unten her" rantasten.
Ich habe mal eine Option gesehen, die den NVidia-treiber mehr debug-Informationen in der Log entlockt. ev. hast du dann eine Chance herauszufinden, was das DDC-Modul tatsächlich aus dem Monitor ausliest.
Eine weitere Möglichkeit wär eine Modline zu suchen, die deinem Monitor die entsprechende Auflösung entlockt (-> googlen). Vieleicht hat sich sax2 ja verrechnet?
