Monitor läuft nicht in 1024*768

Guten Tag.

Bei meiner Freundin habe ich ein merkwürdiges Problem. Sie verwendet Debian - Woody.

Und zwar hat sie einen 17 Zoll Monitor(Beliniea Maxdata) aber 1024x768 will einfach nicht laufen. Je nachdem wie ich mit den Settings spiele komme ich in 800x600 und kann 1024 nicht auswählen, OBWOHL es an erster Stelle in der XConfig steht(Mit STRG ALT + kann ich auch nicht zu 1024 switchen) ODER ich erhalte ein FLIMMERNDES Bild ODER auch einen schwarzen Screen, also garkein Bild.

Woran kann es liegen? Da ich die vertikale und horizontale Bildwiederholfrequenz nicht kenne hab ich mit den Standardsettings von dpkg-reconfigure (debconf) gespielt ohne Erfolg.

Ich habe das gleiche Problem. Ich habe einen Belinea 106020 und Red Hat 9.0 installiert. Schon bei der Installation wurde mein Monitor nicht erkannt. Später habe ich versucht eine 1024x768 Auflösung zu versuchen, doch das größte was mir RH anbot war 800 x 600.

Nun habe ich in /etc/X11/XF86Config die Auflösung unter Screens dazugefügt. Doch beim Neustart vom XServer bleibt alles beim alten.

Kann mir jemand weiterhelfen?

sind die richtigen Bildwiederholfrequenzen (max. HZ- und KHz Zahl) korrekt eingetragen?

Ist das Flimmernde Bild verzerrt oder flimmert es nur unangenehm für die augen? Kommt auch 'out of range' vom Monitor ==> falsche werte, s.o.?

Das ist warscheinlich ein Config fehler, postet mal eure config.

Die Forensuche hats auch schonmal gebracht.

Alles andere kann ich verneinen. Es flimmert nicht und ich bekomme auch keine Fehlermeldungen. Es ist alles nur so riesig auf einem 19'' Zoll-Monitor.
