Da gibts mehrere Möglichkeiten:
Der FTP-Server meldet sich meistens beim Verbinden mit allen möglichen angaben:

Meistens gibts auch noch eine Versionsinfo mit 'programm --version', mein pure-ftpd hat das nicht...
Oder du schaust auf der Herstellerhomepage nach, was im Paket dabei ist... ;)
