f-secure for firewalls und iptables

Hallo!

Ich möchte mir den F-Secure Antivirus for Linux Firewalls kaufen. Habe schon bei Resellern angerufen, aber niemand konnte mir weiterhelfen:

Wenn ich meine Firewall "nur" mit iptables konfiguriere, muss ich etwas an den Regeln ändern, damit der F-Secure scannen kann?

ähm...was hat nen virenscanner mit nem paketfilter zu tun?

dem paketfilter ist es relativ egal, was local auf der platte passiert....es sei denn, f-secure scant über das loopback-device...dann musst du halt deinen localhost freigeben...

edit: sorry...hab mich verlesen....und mich oberflächlich informiert...

der scheint sich wie viruswall auch in den datenstrom einzuklinken und den zu überprüfen...

f-prot meint dazu; Before you install F-Secure Anti-Virus for Firewalls, check that F-Secure Management Agent
identities are set up correctly:
1. The /etc/hosts file usually contains the line:
127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost hostname
that should be changed to:
127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost
and make sure that your IP address is listed in the file and it uses the following format:
ip.ip.ip.ip fully.qualified.domain.name hostname
2. The /etc/sysconfig/network file should have the following entry:
HOSTNAME=hostname
3. Check that the /etc/HOSTNAME file contains the correct hostname and nothing else.

leider bietet das manual nur technischen supprt für fw1 und nicht für iptables...diese bietet aber auch nicht an, die files nach ihrer extension zu routen, wie das für f-prot vorgesehen ist...
