Samba Probleme!

Ich versuche Samba unter Suse 7.2 zu konfigurieren, aber irgendwie will das nicht so, wie ich wohl gerne wollte. Samba habe ich installiert und dann die smb.conf wie folgt geändert:

Unter meinem Client ein Windows ME Rechner dürften die Einstellungen auch richtig sein. Aber in der Netzwerkumgebung erscheint nichts und auch auf dem Linuxsystem kann ich die freigegebenen Ordner von Windows nicht sehen.
Muss ich bei den Benutzern noch irgendetwas beachten? Ich möchte erstmal ohne Password auf die Linuxordner zugreifen können.

1. Funktioniert die Netzwerkverbindung zwischen den Rechnern (mittels ping)?
2. Welche Werkzeuge hast Du benutzt, um die Shares unter Linux zu browsen?
3. Hast Du es mal versucht über *rechtsklick-auf-netzwerkumgebung*->Computer suchen?
4. Ist samba überhaupt gestartet?

Du hast aber auch nicht explizit eine Freigabe eingerichtet unter Samba. Lediglich cdrom, printer und home (wobei das evtl. aus anderen Gründen nicht angezeigt wird...). Der Linux-PC sollte dann aber dennoch über Windows "sichtbar" sein.

zu 1. Die Netzwerkverbindung funktioniert einwandfrei.
zu 2. Wie browsed man denn die Shares?
zu 3. Wenn man nach dem Rechner sucht, findet der auch nichts.
zu 4. Samba wird über die rc.conf gestartet: start_samba = "yes" oder sowas ähnliches.
Wie muss ich denn das mit dem Home anders schreiben, damit das freigegeben wird?
