Hallo zusammen

Nachdem mein zentraler Server vor kurzem Probleme bereitet (http://www.linuxforen.de/forums/showthread.php?280943-Der-Supergau-ist-eingetreten-Server-Systemplatte-kaputt)hat, habe ich mir einen neuen "gut gebrauchten" Rackserver (HP DL380 G6 2xX5570) fuer relativ kleines Geld gegoennt. Uebrigens: Wenn man ihn nicht permament mit hoher Last (zB. Berechnungen fuer worldcommunitygrid.org in 10 Tasks oder mehr) laufen laesst, ist der Laermpegel fast "schlafzimmertauglich";-)

Nun das Problem an der Geschichte: Backups mache ich seit langem mit bacula und PostgreSQL als Datenbank. Leider habe ich fuer mein System (siehe Titel) keine passendes fertiges Package gefunden. Kennt jemand eines?

Nun denn eben wieder mal selber kompilieren:-( Der Download von bacula 9.0.5 von hier (http://blog.bacula.org/downloads/Bacula-9.0.5)funktioniert logischerweise problemlos, auch das "configure" klappte fehlerfrei. Beim "make" fingen die Probleme an:-(

a) wie ich bacula kompiliert bekomme
oder
b) wo ich ein fertiges Installations-Package fuer bacula bekomme

Hast Du schon nach den Fehlern gegoogelt? Das sind üblicherweise Probleme, die durch neuere Bibliotheksversionen oder Compiler auftreten.

Bacula ist IMHO nicht soo das aktive Projekt, weswegen ich es da nicht mehr für so gut gepflegt halte.

Den Bacula-Fork BareOS schätze ich da als wesentlich aktiver ein.

Besten Dank fuer die Inputs!

Oefters mal was neues: Die Installation von BareOS aus dem Repository hier (http://download.bareos.org/bareos/release/latest/openSUSE_Leap_42.1/bareos.repo) via zypper hat ohne Fehlermeldungen geklappt. Jetzt bin ich gespannt, ob auch meine Konfiguration von bacula ohne groessere Anpassungen uebernommen werden kann. Ich halte Euch auf dem Laufenden.

Mittlerweile konzentriere ich mich auf BareOS. Erste Versuche sind recht vielversprechend. Wer "bacula" kennt, kann sich auch schnell in die Denkweise von "bareos" einfuehlen. Aber eine 1:1-Uebernahme der bestehenden Installation ist nicht noeglich. Das ist wieder mal ein Grund mehr, den ganzen alten Geruempel auszusortieren (zB. DLT-Laufwerke);-)

Aber eine 1:1-Uebernahme der bestehenden Installation ist nicht noeglich. Das ist wieder mal ein Grund mehr, den ganzen alten Geruempel auszusortieren (zB. DLT-Laufwerke);-)
So, der erste Testlauf (Backup der System-Directories (/, /var, /usr) des neuen Servers) ist glatt gelaufen. Vorher musste ich allerdings 2 Stunden lang irgendwelche Syntaxfehler in der Konfiguration suchen. Nunja, das kennt man ja von bacula. Aber sonst recht vielversprechend. Danke an fork fuer den Tip.

Eine 1:1 Übernahme verstehe ich auch als Komplett-Image (sozusagen als komplettes Backup)
Dann könntest Du ja 'mal clonezilla und Co. ausprobieren
