Hi,

ich bin etwas verzweifelt und hatte in den letzten 10 Jahren nur bedingt mit Linux zu tun.
Ich habe mir zum Spielen für Dinge ein HP Chromebook 11 (ARM) zugelegt und möchte da ein Linux mit X drauf haben für Wireshark, CAN und ähnliches.

Es gibt ChrUbuntu (https://github.com/iantrich/ChrUbuntu-Guides) sowie das gleiche für ArchLinux und andere. Ich habe mich eben für die Ubuntu Variante entscheiden, da ich klassisch eher der Debian-Fan bin. Nach der Übersicht wird mein HP Chromebook 11 (20013, Spring) nur mit Fragezeichen aufgeführt.

Nach verschiedenen Log-Informationen läuft der Kernel und das Init wird gestartet. Allerdings bekomme ich kein Login und auch kein X. Ich habe es auch mit der Option für multi-user.target probiert.

Es scheitert immer daran, dass mir die virtual Terminals fehlen. Es gibt kein /dev/ttyX. Ich bin langsam am Verzweifeln.

OK, ich habe inzwischen das Problem behoben, nach vielen Recherchen und Versuchen. Letztendlich war die Lösung, die ChromeOS/Third_Party/Kernel-Quellen zu laden und meinen eigenen Kernel zu kompilieren. Der von HP mitgelieferte Kernel hat scheinbar nicht alles, um im SysFS die TTY anzulegen, weswegen die Rules für UDEV nicht angeschlagen haben.

Es hätte so einfach sein können, wenn ich gleich von Anfang an meinen eigenen Kernel kompiliert hätte.
