ssh akzeptiert immernoch Passwort Login

Ich habe einen VServer gemietet. Nun möchte ich alles so einstellen, dass ich mich nur mit selbst-generierten Schlüsseln einloggen kann. Dazu habe ich mit

ssh-keygen -t rsa

zwei Schlüssel erzeugt und den pub-Schlüssel auf den Server ins .ssh Verzeichnis kopiert. Anschließend cat id_rsa.pub > authorized_keys.

Das Anmelden mit dem Schlüssel klappt wunderbar. Nun möchte ich aber verhindern, dass man sich ohne Schlüssel anmelden kann. Dazu habe ich gegooglet und in der ssh_config folgende Einträge hinzugefügt:

PasswordAuthentication no
ChallengeResponseAuthentication no
UsePAM no

Leider kann ich mich nach wie vor ohne Probleme ohne Schlüssel-Datei einloggen. Was fehlt denn noch?

Achso, den Dienst hab ich natürlich neugestartet und das System vorsichtshalber auch rebootet.

Du hast die einträge nur in der falschen Config-Datei.


PasswordAuthentication no
gehört in die

/etc/ssh/sshd_config
dort ist der Eintrag auch vorhanden und muss entsprechend auskommentiert bzw. auf no gesetzt werden. ;)

Uiih, da hab ich wohl tatsächlich den Wald vor lauter Bäumen nicht mehr gesehen :) .
