Hab' hier einen Epson Perfection V10 Scanner. Der sollte mit sane mit dem proprietaeren epkowa Treiber spielen- zumindest prinzipiell. Bei mir grad' nicht. Hat er aber schon mal, auf einer aelteren Installation.
Hier was ich probiert hab' und was dabei rauskam:

Bei xsane das selbe; alles als root. Unter /var/log/ nix auffaelliges.
Auch wenn ich scanimage direkt das Device "epkowa:libusb:002:003" angebe, das selbe.
Das ganze passiert auf einem recht frischen BLFS mit sane-frontends-1.0.14, sane-backends-1.0.19, xsane-0.996
Ich vermute mal, dass es irgendwas mit hotplug oder udev zu tun hat, aber da hab' ich keinen Plan, wie ich da weiterdebuggen kann...und sicher wissen tu' ich's natuerlich auch nicht.
