Habe Google earth installiert und das Startbild kommt. Dann bricht alles ab und ich muss neu eiloggen. Woran liegts?
Grafikkarte Geforce FX 5500
Linux 11 gibts nicht!
Was heisst neu Einloggen , startet der X-Server neu oder was?
Wenn nur GoogleEarth crasht dann starte das Programm von der Konsole aus und poste die Ausgaben!

Du meinst wohl OpenSUSE 11.0. Ich denke es liegt daran, dass dein 3D-Treiber nicht richtig installiert ist. GoogleEarth benötigt 3D.

Jetzt bin ich so weit, dass mein grafisches System wieder läuft. Über 1-click wurden 2 Treiber installiert und der falsche Kernel. unter 2.6.25.18-0.2-pae läuft sax und der Rest. Allerdings bricht google earth trotzdem ab. 3D ist aktiviert. Muss man sonst noch bei FX 5500 Optionen setzen?

Argh, Details ...
Glaskugeln sind derzeit in der Reparatur.
Treiber? Version? Wie installiert? xorg.conf?

xorg.conf finde ich nicht. Installiert mit Yast2.

Poste mal Ausgaben:
"rpm -qa | grep kernel"
"rpm -qa | grep nvidia"
Dann mal "cat /etc/X11/xorg.conf".

Manchmal gibt es Probleme mit den parallel installierten Mesa-Paketen. Besorge dir den Treiber mal direkt bei Nvidia, lösche die installierten Pakete.

Achja, deine Grafikkarte ist schon etwas zu alt, du brauchst also den Legacy-Treiber.

ich habe nach dem Upgrade von openSuSE-10.0 auf 11.0 genau
das selbe Problem mit Google-Earth und habe eueren Thread
verfolgt.
Ich habe:
openSuSE-11.0
ATI Technologie - Radeon X1650 mit Treiber radeonhd
also ohne 3D.
YaST -> Software Management -> Search: nvidia
schlägt mir eine Reihe von nvidiagfx-legacy vor.
Welcher Trieber ist für meine Grafikkarte?

Kollege ne AMD/ATI karte wirst du nicht mit nvidia Treibern zum laufen bekommen ;)

Habe nichts Konkretes gefunden.
Meine Frage ist auch: Welcher derjenigen Treiber von Software Repositories
download.nvidia.com/opensuse/11.0
ist für die RADEON X1650. Dass diese Karte unterstützt wird scheint sicher,
da ich das Repository extra danach befragt hatte:

Ja wie wäre dann mal mit Google oder Suche. Die ATI Homepage wirst du doch sicherlich finden können.
Ist das so schwer zu begreifen? Du hast einen Graphikchip von ATI. Dafuer brauchst du ATI Treiber.
Mit NvidiaTreibern wird das nix.
