Fehler bei X-Fi Beta-Treiber Installation

Hallo!

Beim Installieren bekomm ich ne ähnliche Fehlermeldung wie hier. (http://www.linuxforen.de/forums/newreply.php?do=newreply&noquote=1&p=1652614) Das Problem mit der Prozessorerkennung hab ich jedoch definitiv nicht. Hat jemand vll noch eine Idee?

Das Rote verwirrt mich dabei am Meisten.

OSS ist zwar installiert und funktioniert, so richtig zufriedenstellend ist das aber auch nicht ...

Auf was für einer Distribution versucht du es denn? Die Version 1.18 läuft nur auf:

This beta driver has only been tested on the following 32-bit / 64-bit Linux distributions: Ubuntu® 7.10, openSUSE® 10.3 and Red Hat® Enterprise Linux® 5.1 (64-bit only).

Achso. Ich dachte, da würds mal mindestens laufen. Wenns schon unter Suse 10.3 läuft, könnts ja eig auch unter 11.0 laufen...

Gibt es trotzdem irgendeine Chance das Ding mal zum Laufen zu bekommen?

Gibt noch keinen neuen Treiber, damit keine Änderung.

Wir hatten gestern das selbe Problem bei einem bekannten der OpenSuse 11 benutzt.
Hat schon mal jemand versucht seinen Kernel mit dem gcc 4.3... neu zu übersetzen und dann versucht den Treiber zu builden?

Ich hab mich vor ein paar Wochen mal daran versucht (in der Hoffnung vielleicht ein RPM daraus basteln zu können).

Auch wenn mein Weg ein etwas anderer war (ich musste zuerst diesem dämlichen Installerscript bzw. den Makefiles beibringen, es solle keinen HW-check durchführen bzw. auch als non-root laufen) und kam genau so weit wie die User in den Kommentaren hier:

Die ganzen Compiler-Errors (SA_SHIRQ ist nur einer von wenigen) konnte ich "wegpatchen" (btw. die dort vorgeschlagene Lösung mit "KBUILD_NOPEDANTIC=1" halte ich für wenig elegant, einfach das tun, was das Makefile auswirft und CFLAGS in EXTRA_CFLAGS ändern ist IMHO der bessere Weg) und dann wirft make am Schluss einen "Error 2" aus, obwohl das Kompilieren der Module durchläuft.

Dann wars mir persönlich schlicht und ergreifend zu blöd weiter zu machen.

Mittlerweile hat sich da in den Kommentaren und im verlinkten Artikel des Gentoo-Wiki was getan, diese Einträge zu 2.6.25-r5 waren mir damals noch nicht bekannt, aber

wenn DAS nötig wäre (und das Neubauen eines eigenen Kernels), dann ist das keine wirklich sinnvolle Lösung, das deutet der Autor ja auch an (sogar etwas mehr als das)
