WLAN performance mies und unzuverlässig

Hab nen Vaio CR420, auf dem Xubuntu 8 läuft. Soweit fast alles wunderbar bis auf das WLAN. Die meiste Zeit bekomme ich sowohl im Intranet als auch über das Internet nur sehr geringen Datendurchsatz. Im Internet habe ich die meiste Zeit nur einen Datendurchsatz von ungefähr 100 KB/s. Im Intranet hatte ich grad eben so 300KB/s. Eher selten mal läuft es mit 1,0 - 1,3 MB/s.

Finde leider keine Lösung. Bitte helft mir weiter.

Hast Du schon mal mit einem anderen PC oder mit einem anderen OS getestet, was das Wlan an der konkreten Stelle im Raum denn her geben könnte?

Ansonsten: irgendwelche Logs zu Fehlern, Verbindungsabbrüchen, ...?

Ja, hab hier auch noch meinen alten Laptop (auch Intel Chipsatz). Und hab dann alles mögliche probiert. Vom alten Internet down- und upload. Das gleiche beim neuen. Dateientransfer zwischen den beiden in beide Richtungen usw. Vernichtendes Urteil für den neuen, während der alte super abschneidet (DL Internet bei 1,4-1,6 MB/s).

Logs oder dergleichen: Nada, leider. Habe auch gar keine Ahnung, wo man noch suchen soll. Und es ergibt keinen Sinn für mich, warum das Ding (was weiß ich nach Mondphasen oder so) ab und zu mal wenigstens bis zu 1,0 MB/s zulässt. :confused:
