Hi Leute,

hat einer von euch ein Laptop HP Pavilion zv5000-Serie ?
Es handelt sich speziell um das Modell zv5265ea.
CPU --> AMD64
NorthBridge --> Nforce3 ??? (bzw. PCI-IDE-Controller)
Grafik --> Nvidia Geforce Go 440 MX ???
Speicher --> 512Mb Arbeitsspeicer, 80Gb Festplatte
Wlan --> Broadcom
Monitor --> 15 Zoll
Alter --> c.a 3-5 Jahre

Ich versuche gerade einen 2.6.24-amd64 Kernel zum laufen zu bekommen
und beim Versuch scheint es auch zu bleiben.

Ich nehme stark an, dass ich irgendwo die falsche Wahl bei
der Kernel Optionen angegeben habe(<make menuconfig>)

Falls sich Jemand angesprochen fühlt, dann poste bitte deine Kernel ".config" Datei.
Die config Datei sollte aber möglichst für einen neuen amd-64bit(x86_64) Kernel sein,
also am besten 2.6.24-amd64.

Hi

was für linux hast du am laufen ?
mit

zcat /proc/config.gz > /usr/src/deinlinuxsourceverzeichniss/.config
kannst die config vom gerade laufendem kernel nehmen, falls vorhanden

dann wird die config angepasst


make oldconfig


jetzt kannst immer noch mit make menuconfig, das eine/andere verändern

wo bleibt der neue kernel hängen ?, wäre schon mal ein anfang

wichtig ist IDE-Support, AMD-Nvidia, generic

Location:
│ -> Device Drivers
│ -> ATA/ATAPI/MFM/RLL support (IDE [=y])
│ -> Enhanced IDE/MFM/RLL disk/cdrom/tape/floppy support

nur keine Scheu, das wird schon, nur überschreibe den alten kernel nicht !
im boot-manager mache für den neuen, neuen boot eintrag

Also zur Zeit läuft der kernel 2.6.18-amd64 und ich wollte auf den
2.6.24(amd64) von kernel.org umsteigen.
<make oldconfig> habe ich ja gemacht nur bringt das bei den vielen
Änderungen im Kernel 2.6.24 nicht viel. Ich habe mehrere Stunden
investiert um den Kernel richtig zu konfigurieren, nur habe ich nichts
falsches entdecken können.

Die Fehlermeldung war

Ich bin 110% sicher das die Hardware in Ordnung ist, immerhin läuft der
Laptop ja zur Zeit mit Debian Etch - Kernel 2.6.18-amd64.
Und das Windows Xp Home läuft ja auch zur Zeit auf dem Laptop.
Da der Laptop bei meiner Freundin steht, kann ich jetzt nicht genau sagen,
was ich aktiviert habe. werde es am Wochenende durchgehen.

Ich habe auf jeden Fall ATA_Support disk/cdrom,
SCSI_Support disk/cdrom,
SATA_PATA_Support Nvidia-SATA-Support ausgewählt.
Ich bin mir aber nicht sicher ob ich <M> oder <Y> gewählt habe.

Und ich bin mir nicht sicher ob ich Scsi oder ATA den Vorzug geben sollte,
also direkt in den Kernel einbauen sollte bei dem Kernel 2.6.24.

Ich habe es darauf hin versucht mit <--initrd>, aber auch das scheint nicht zu funktionieren. Beim booten habe ich den Kernel einmal mit <hda=ide-scsi> und
einmal ohne gestartet, damit sollte er einmal mit und einmal ohne scsi gelaufen
sein. Beides hat aber nicht funktioniert.

... mit Dauer-Enter bringt das doch meistens einen ganz brauchbaren "Rohling" ;).
ich habe nicht nur immer ENTER gedrückt, ich habe mir alle Neuerungen angeguckt und überlegt. Mittlerweile habe ich ja auch genügend Übung
im Kernel backen. Wenn ich mir nicht sicher bin, dann drücke ich ENTER oder
drücke <?> zum angucken der Info.

Ich würde mal auf den Fehler näher eingehen. Ganz sicher, dass du nichts übertaktet hast? Oder sonst wo was rumgespielt?

Die neueren Kernel Versionen reagieren zum Teil sehr heikel darauf, bzw. ich hatte das Verhalten bei meinem System, bis ich die CPU wieder auf dem normale Takt hatte.

Der Laptop wurde wirklich nicht hochgetaktet oder sonstiges verändert.
Er gehört ja schließlich nicht mir. Im Bios wurde auch nichts umgestellt.
Alles was ich an dem Laptop ändere muss ich meiner Freundin begründen.
Der Laptop ist so gut wie in original Zustand.
Da zur Zeit WinXP und Debian Etch auf dem Laptop ohne Probleme laufen,
kann es keinen Hardware Fehler geben.

Den Link zu den Kernel Konfiguration gefällt mir, danke.

Falls hier noch Jemand auftaucht mit einem zv5000'er dann bitte Kernel config
posten.

Run through mcelog --ascii to decode and contact your hardware vendor
sag doch schonm recht viel. Hast du mal dieses tool getestet? Post mal den output.

Vllt gibt das was sinnvolles aus.

Hab leider grade kein 64 bit system zur hand und kann das nicht testen.
(Ich tu mir das aus prinzip nicht an. Allein schon der Ärger um Flash zu installieren.)


Syncronistions fehler kann fast alles sein.

mcelog habe ich nicht getestet. Ich habe nochmal die Module
die hier gepostet waren z.b. "amd74xx" in den Sourcen überprüft.
Das Modul amd74xx war nicht im Kernel fest integriert.
Das System habe ich somit zum laufen bekommen.

Es gibt aber noch Probleme mit der Firmware der Broadcom Wlan Karte
und
iptables konnte nat(Network Adress Translation) nicht finden, in den
Kernel Sourcen wurde von nat auf netfilter umgestellt?

Aber ein neues Problem erfordert eine neue Frage :-)
