Hi folks!
Ich habe einen bereits etwas älteren Intel Core2Duo 6550 auf einem Asus P5K Mainboard mit Intel P35 Chipset. Darauf läuft seid einigen Monaten Fedora 8 i386 - und das bis vor kurzem problemlos.
Seid dem Update von Kernel 2.6.23 auf Kernel 2.6.24 (derzeit aktuell unter Fedora 8 ist Kernel 2.6.24.3-34) habe ich jedoch Probleme mit meinem Apacer USB CardReader, welcher intern am USB-Port angeschlossen ist.
Sporadisch bekomme ich nämlich seid dem beim Booten folgende Fehlermeldung:
usb 2-2: unable to read config index 0 descriptor/start: -110
usb 2-2: chopping to 0 config(s)
usb 2-2: no configuration chosen from 0 choices
Danach ist der CardReader nicht vorhanden (unter Computer:/// z.B.) und auch nicht nutzbar.
Das ehci_hcd Modul ist jedoch geladen. Auch ein Entladen und erneutes Laden des Moduls hilft nicht immer. Wenn ich ehci_hcd jedoch komplett weglasse, dann funzt es - jedoch sehr langsam (da nur USB 1.1).

Ich habe es desweiteren mit Knoppix 5.1.1 und einer Fedora 8 Rescue-CD mit Kernel 2.6.23 probiert und dort funktioniert der Cardreader mit USB 2.0 problemlos - wie gewohnt.
Ist ggf. ein solcher Bug beim Kernel 2.6.24 bekannt?
Bei einem anderen PC mit MSI G33M (Intel G33 Chipset) und einem billigen USB 2.0 Cardreader funktioniert hingegen dieser auch mit Kernel 2.6.24 problemlos.
Stutzig macht mich nur, daß das Problem hier sporadisch auftritt. Meistens nach einem Warmstart, bisher nicht direkt nach dem Einschalten des PC.

Ich habe einen bereits etwas älteren Intel Core2Duo 6550 auf einem Asus P5K Mainboard mit Intel P35 Chipset. Darauf läuft seid einigen Monaten Fedora 8 i386 - und das bis vor kurzem problemlos.
Seid dem Update von Kernel 2.6.23 auf Kernel 2.6.24 (derzeit aktuell unter Fedora 8 ist Kernel 2.6.24.3-34) habe ich jedoch Probleme mit meinem Apacer USB CardReader, welcher intern am USB-Port angeschlossen ist.
Sporadisch bekomme ich nämlich seid dem beim Booten folgende Fehlermeldung:
usb 2-2: unable to read config index 0 descriptor/start: -110
usb 2-2: chopping to 0 config(s)
usb 2-2: no configuration chosen from 0 choices
Danach ist der CardReader nicht vorhanden (unter Computer:/// z.B.) und auch nicht nutzbar.
Das ehci_hcd Modul ist jedoch geladen. Auch ein Entladen und erneutes Laden des Moduls hilft nicht immer. Wenn ich ehci_hcd jedoch komplett weglasse, dann funzt es - jedoch sehr langsam (da nur USB 1.1).

Ich habe es desweiteren mit Knoppix 5.1.1 und einer Fedora 8 Rescue-CD mit Kernel 2.6.23 probiert und dort funktioniert der Cardreader mit USB 2.0 problemlos - wie gewohnt.
Ist ggf. ein solcher Bug beim Kernel 2.6.24 bekannt?
Bei einem anderen PC mit MSI G33M (Intel G33 Chipset) und einem billigen USB 2.0 Cardreader funktioniert hingegen dieser auch mit Kernel 2.6.24 problemlos.
Stutzig macht mich nur, daß das Problem hier sporadisch auftritt. Meistens nach einem Warmstart, bisher nicht direkt nach dem Einschalten des PC.
