Hallo allerseits,

was ich mit dem Titel sagen möchte: meine Wlan Karte funktioniert - aber nur halb.
Stark simplifiziert: Ich kann empfangen, aber mich nicht einbuchen.

Das OS ist Suse 10.2 die Karte ist eine pcmcia "Senao NL-2011CD" (wird aber auch als "Intersil" bezeichnet und hat einen Prism2 Chipsatz (orinoco_CS))

Starte ich "kismet" funktioniert die Karte. Ich sehe mein Wlan - und die Netze der Nachbarschaft. Das ist aber leider schon alles. Außer kismet habe ich noch niemand sonst zur Zusammenarbeit bewegen können. Ich kann mich in kein Netz einbuchen. Um erstmal alle sonstigen Schwierigkeiten, die man so haben kann, auszuschließen, habe ich mein Netz vollkommen offen. Keine Verschlüsselung und nichts versteckt. Wenn ich im "knetworkmanager" die SSID angebe und verbinden lasse, geht die Anzeige nicht über 28% hinaus. ("Gerätekonfiguration") Auch blinkt die LED die ganze Zeit - egal was ich auch tue - außer: kismet läuft. Dann leuchtet die LED dauernd (und dann geht das Ding auch)

Das passiert bei meinem Suse-Notebook genauso wie beim Debian-Notebook

"eth1: link is not ready" klingt möchtig verdöchtig - und ich wäre wahrscheinlich sehr glücklich, wenn mir jemand verraten könnte, wie man den "link ready" macht ;)

"link is not ready" heißt oftmals, dass die firmware fehlt... nur so als kleiner ansatz.

Daran liegt's nicht. Das ist noch eine Karte von der Sorte, die die Firmware fest speichern.

Hallo allerseits!

Hat jemand von euch eine Pfanne, die groß genug ist, einen Storch darin zu braten?
Ich mache heute Vormittag das Notebook an und will weiter "rumspielen" - da bucht sich die Karte vollkommen freiwillig in mein offenes Wlan ein :confused:
Ich schwör beim Barte meiner Mutter - ich habe nichts, aber auch gar nichts geändert zum gestrigen Stand! Keine Einstellung geändert - oder sonst was. Nichts!
(und ich hatte gestern das NB sogar mehrfach neu gestartet)

So groß die Freude ist, daß Wlan jetzt funktioniert - ein bissel ärgere ich mich aber auch, weil ich das absolut nicht nachvollziehen kann.
Gibt es da sowas wie einen Erklärungsansatz für? (außer Voodoo?)

Wenn's nach dem nächsten reboot nicht mehr funktionieren sollte, verwende mal den Kernel-Parameter "acpi=off". Und wenn's damit immer funktioniert, dann wende dich am besten mal an den Entwickler des Treibers orinoco_cs. Das dürfte den interessieren.

du kannst dich in kein Netz einwaehlen solange du dem Rehcner noch eine 2. Moglichkeit gibst...

entweder du stellst eth0 fest auf eine andere IP (also komplett anderes subnetz!!), oder du schaltest eth0 immer VOR der Verbindung von eth1 ab... (ifconfig eth0 down)

poste mal deine ifcondig vllt. dazu :)
