Hallo,

mein Problem ist, seit dem ich /var und /tmp auf hdb5 und hdb6 verlegt habe,
macht das System beim Booten immer eine längere Pause bei einer bestimmten Stelle im Bootvorgang.(Beim einhängen der Partitionen) Ab der Meldung für die Konfiguration der WLAN Karte geht der Bootvorgang wieder normal schnell. Wenn das System und KDE gestartet wurde, kann ich gleich schnell arbeiten wie früher auch. In den Bootmeldungen habe ich den Bereich rot markiert in dem das System langsamer wird beim Booten. (Zeilenweise Ausgabe der Bootmeldungen auf dem Bildschirm, dannach laufen die Meldungen wieder sehr schnell über den Bildschirm.

ich habe Suse 9.2 prof.
Jetzt habe ich aus Platzgründen meine beiden Verzeichnisse /var und /tmp
von hda6 auf hdb5 und hdb6 verlegt. Gemacht habe ich das mit dem rescue System. Kopiert habe ich den Inhalt der Verzeichnisse mit cp -a * in hdb5 und hdb6. Dann habe ich die alten Verzeichnisse /tmp und /var umbenannt, einen neuen Mountpunkt für /tmp und /var erstellt.
Dann die /etc/fstab so angepasst:

/dev/hdb6 /tmp reiserfs defaults 0 2
/dev/hdb5 /var reiserfs defaults 0 2

Vorher sah die /etc/fstab so aus:

Abgesehen davon, dass der SIS-Controller irgendwelche Probleme hat, hättest du nie per


cp -a * ...

die Files & Directories kopieren können. Entweder move oder, noch besser, mit tar: SDB-Eintrag (http://de.opensuse.org/SDB:SuSE_Linux_umkopieren).
Grund: die bestehende OWNER und MODs müssen erhalten bleiben, beim `cp` (so wie ausgeführt) ist es nicht der Fall. Hat z.B. die neue /tmp den Sticky-Bit?

@Mods: würde fast sagen, dass der alte SDB-Eintrag (http://de.opensuse.org/SDB:SuSE_Linux_umkopieren) in die "Tipps & Tricks" rein sollte...

Hallo,

ja, /tmp hat unter Benutzerrechte erweitert unter Sonstige ein Häckchen bei
Sticky-bit.
Ich habe mein Linux bisher immer mit cp -a * auf andere Partitionen oder Festplatten kopiert vom
rescue System aus. (zur Sicherung des Verzeichnisses /home und /.
Vom Rettungssystem aus: md /mnt/testhda6
md /mnt/testhdb5
Dann mount -t reiserfs /dev/hda6 /mnt/testhda6
mount -t reiserfs /dev/hdb5 /mnt/testhdb5
cd /mnt/reshda6/var
cp -a * /mnt/testhdb5

So habe ich früher immer das ganze / und das /home Verzeichnis kopiert

Beim zurückkopieren hatte ich immer ein funktionierendes Linux. Ich konnte auch die Kopie booten.
Ich war eigentlich immer der Meinung die -a Option kopiert die Ordner so wie sie sind und die Benutzerrechte bleiben erhalten.

Zum Problem mit den zeilenweisen Meldungen.
Vorher war das Problem für mehrere Startvorgänge weg. Bei erreichen von
eth1 stoppten die Meldungen für ca. 10 Sekungen dann ging es wie gewohnt
weiter. Bei nachfolgenden Bootvorgängen stoppten immer die Meldungen bei
eth1, obwohl dort gar kein Netzwerkkabel angeschlossen ist.

Jetzt habe ich die Zeilen mit hdb5 und hdb6 in der fstab weiter nach oben
verschoben, abgespeichert Neustart des Systems, und ich habe wieder das
Problem, das die Zeilen sich nur zeilenweise aufbauen.
Das ganze sieht so aus: Die Bootmeldungen werden über den gesamten Bildschirm angezeigt, dann geht bei jeder Meldung eine Welle von oben nach
unten durch den Bildschirm, als ob gar kein nvidia Treiber für meine Grafikkarte installiert wäre. Als ob irgendwie die Grafikleistung schwach wäre. Sobald die WLAN-Karte installiert ist und eine IP hat, laufen die Bootmeldungen wieder ganz schnell durch.
Könnte es vielleicht der SIS AGP Controller sein? Oder das eine hohe Auflösung beim Bootbildschirm vielleicht nicht so gut ist?

Hallo,

ich habe jetzt alles wieder rückgängig gemacht. Jetzt bootet das System so
schnell wie früher auch. Das mit cp -a * scheint wohl doch nicht das richtige zu
sein. Ich probiere es jetzt so wie es im Link von Suse Linux beschrieben steht.
Nur was ich nicht verstehe, warum kann ich mit cp -a mein gesamtes Linux auf eine andere Festplatte kopieren und es läuft alles, aber bei einem Verzeichnis oder dem Inhalt eines Verzeichnisses geht es nicht?

Beim Wiederherstellen des Systems habe ich gerade jetzt auch mit cp -a * den Inhalt aus /testvar in das Verzeichnis /var kopiert. /testvar hatte ich als Sicherung mit mv var testvar erstellt.
Jetzt ist alles wie früher.
