Sorry, wenn ich das Board dazu benutze, schlicht meiner Begeisterung Ausdruck zu verleihen. Hatte bisher die ganze 3-D-Spielerei für Blödsinn gehalten, konnte aber wieder den Spieltrieb nicht unterdrücken. Und seit gestern Nacht läuft jetzt Compiz auf meinem Rechner.
Bringt so gut wie keine zusätzliche Systemlast und sieht pfundig aus.
Wenn ich es jetzt noch schaffte, unter OpenSuse 10.3_64 den wpa_supplicant in Verbindung mit ndiswrapper zum Laufen zu bringen (auf der 32-bit-Variante funktionierte das ohne Fehl und Tadel), dann bin ich richtig glücklich!

Habe gestern auch rumgekämpft um das auf meinem Notebook zum laufen zu bekommen. 3D geht alles. Aber die Fenster haben dann keine Rahmen mehr sobald ich Compiz anschalte :(

Die Zeilen, in der mit nvidia-xconfig die xorg.conf angepasst wird sind für Dich entscheidend.

Ich habe Rahmen, ich habe alles! Hast Du alle Pakete installiert?
Hallo, es gibt da was Neues für Yast: Yast Meta Packages. Damit lässt sich z.b. Compiz und alle benötigten Pakete recht einfach installieren. Habs bei mir mal getestet und hat gut geklappt. Hier der Link:

Habe alle Pakete installiert.
Wie in allen Anleitungen die xorg.conf angepasst.
Bekomme beim starten von fusion-icon immer folgende Meldung.
compiz: Trying '/usr/$LIB/libIndirectGL.so.1'
compiz (core) - Fatal: No GLXFBConfig for default depth, this isn't going to work.
compiz (core) - Error: Failed to manage screen: 0
compiz (core) - Fatal: No manageable screens found on display :0.0
Und hier scheint auch das Problem zu liegen.

Das Problem liegt hier erstmal vor allem bei fehlenden Infos:
Grafikkarte? Treiber? Liste der Pakete? KDE/Gnome? xorg.conf?

Sicher. Aber bevor ich genauer Frage schau ich selbst erst mal in XX Foren nach Lösungen. Bis jetzt habe nichts gefunden was mir geholfen hat. Pakete habe ich mit dem Link oben installiert.

Ist emerald selbst installiert/aktiviert und als Window-Dekorator eingetragen?
Wurde von http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/X11:/XGL/SUSE_Factory/compiz-fusion-kde.ymp mitinstalliert.
Mehr habe ich mit emerald nicht gemacht. Nur geschaut ob es als Kommando eingetragen ist (emerald --replace)

Leider hat "locked-userpages=0" nicht geholfen.
Sobald in auf Compiz umstelle sind die Fensterramen immer noch weg.
Jetz geht es. Habe von http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/X11:/XGL/openSUSE_10.3/noarch/ opensuse-xgl-settings gezogen und damit einen anderen Grafikkartentreiber installiert und nach einem Neustart funktionierte es.

Vielleicht noch eine Frage nachgeschoben: Weiß jemand, wie sich die Buttons von Emerald vergrößern lassen?
