Hallo zusammen!

Erstmal meine Daten Ich benutze Ubuntu 7.10 auf meinem Toshiba Notebook.

Als erstes hatte ich mir mit "sudo apt-get install nvidia-glx-new" das nötige Paket heruntergeladen und mit "sudo nvidia-glx-config enable" aktiviert. Nach dem Neustart hatte ich mich ganz normal eingeloggt (Tastatur war plötzlich auf US umgestellt im Anmeldefenster, vielleicht kann mir jemand sagen, wie ich das umstelle).

Als ich den Firefox öffnete fehlte irgendwie der Rand von dem Fenster um es zu verschieben und wenn ich ein neues Terminalfenster öffne, dann bekomme ich nur ein weises Fensterebenfalls ohne Rand.

Und normalerweise schließe ich einen Monitor an mein Notebook und der wird überhauptnicht mehr erkannt.

Kann mir jemand weiterhelfen?

Als ich den Firefox öffnete fehlte irgendwie der Rand von dem Fenster um es zu verschieben und wenn ich ein neues Terminalfenster öffne, dann bekomme ich nur ein weises Fensterebenfalls ohne Rand.Könnte ein compiz-Problem sein. Kannst du das mal deaktivieren?


Und normalerweise schließe ich einen Monitor an mein Notebook und der wird überhauptnicht mehr erkannt.Wurde er vor dem Treiberwechsel erkannt?

Ah danke, nun geht es : ). Ich hätte es selbst herausgefunden, aber was soll man da bei google eingeben^^.

Und wegen dem Monitor, ja er wurde vorher erkannt. Das Problem besteht seit dem Installieren des Nvidia Treibers.

Zum externen Monitor:

(1) Check mal /var/log/Xorg.0.log.
(2) Vielleicht funktionieren die Hotkeys, bei mir Fn+F8, manchmal Fn+F4. Siehst du am blauen Emblem.
(3) Suche nach nvidia +extern +[NAME_DEINER_GRAKA].

Also normalerweise ist es bei mir Fn+F5 und das Klappt nicht. Der Monitor bleibt tot. Was soll ich den in der /var/log/Xorg.0.log finden? Ich poste sie mal

Also normalerweise ist es bei mir Fn+F5 und das Klappt nicht. Der Monitor bleibt tot. Was soll ich den in der /var/log/Xorg.0.log finden?
Ob ein externer Monitor erkannt und angesprochen wird. Das log scheint aber nicht vollständig ...

Nur was muss ich da jetzt editieren damit der Monitor erkannt wird? Wenn ich das Notebook neustarte, dann meldet sich der Monitor aber Sobald Ubuntu zum Anmeldefenster kommt, schaltet es sich einfach ab.

Eigendlich nichts, weil ich absolut kein Ahnung habe was ich da nun einstellen soll...

Und unter System -> Systemverwaltung -> Bildschirme und Grafik kann ich einen 2. Bildschirm einstellen allerdings nicht ok anklicken

Die Ausgabe von Xorg.0.log mit der neuen Option wäre noch interessant.

Grundsätzlich schaut's mit dem Toshiba vielleicht nicht gut aus:


Display change hotkey switching is not available on all notebooks. In some cases, the ACPI infrastructure is not fully supported by the NVIDIA Linux Driver. Work is ongoing to increase the robustness of NVIDIA's support in this area. Toshiba and Lenovo notebooks are known to be problematic.

Die Zeile

Option "EnableACPIHotkeys" "enable"
wird wohl auch nichts bringen, da das Log ja sagt, dass die HotKeys verwendet würden.

Ja, klar ist die ganze Zeit angeschlossen. Wie gesagt beim booten wird alles auf dem Monitor angezeigt. Wenn der Ubuntu Ladebalken durchgelaufen ist, dann schaltet es auf das Notebook Display um.

Also das Paket toshiba_acpi ist nicht installiert. Ich versuche es morgen nochmal mit klarem Kopf : ), muss morgen leider früh raus. Danke für deine Geduld und Hilfe. Wenn ich es noch immer nicht gebacken bekomme, dann melde ich mich wieder.

Nein, toshiba_acpi ist kein Paket, sondern ein Modul. Wenn es nicht geladen ist, sollte folgender Befehl genügen:


modprobe toshiba_acpiDann den XServer neu starten und nochmal das Hotkey probieren (geduldig, mehrmals, vielleicht braucht es eine Reaktionszeit zum Umschalten) ;)
