Hallo zusammen,

normal wartet der Tomek immer unseren Server, leider habe ich um diese Uhrzeit ein Problem und er ist nicth online.

Ich habe vorhin den Server neu booten müssen und seitdem komme ich nicht mehr mit dem FTP-Programm auf unsere Accounts...

Könnte mir jemand sagen wie ich den FTP Server neu starte und wie ich herrausfinde welches Programm als FTP-Server fungiert?

Hallo psy,

das wüsste ich auch gerne, ich habe nicht viel Ahnung von Servern, daher überlasse ich die Wartung immer einem Fachmann :)

Schau mal auf dem Server im Ordner /etc, da müsste es eine Datei geben die mit "version" oder "release" aufhört.

Poste dann mal den Inhalt dieser Datei hier.

Eine Datei die mit release aufhört gibts unter /etc nicht... nur eine Datei die heisst: debian-version

Der FTP-Server dürfte jetzt wieder laufen.

Habs ausgeführt, leider ändert es nix:

Im FTP-Programm kommt immer : unable to login, connection closed by the server....

Das ist doof.

Dann poste mal die Ausgabe von:

1. ps ax | grep vsftp
2. netstat -tulpen | grep vsftp

Gab es irgendwelche Fehler als du "/etc/init.d/vsftpd start" ausgeführt hast?

Es gab keine Fehler.
Nur die Bestätigung:

Starting FTP server: vsftpd.

Nach dem ersten Befehl, erhalte ich folgendes:

3647 pts/0 R+ 0:00 grep vsftp


Nach dem zweiten Befehl kommt keinerlei ausgabe nur eine neue Kommandozeile....

Ja, der Server läuft nicht.
Es kann auch sein das dieser über inetd bzw. xinetd gestartet wird.

Schau mal im Ordner /etc in die beiden Dateien "inetd.conf" & "xinetd.conf" rein, steht da irgendwas mit vsftpd drin?

Da steht nix sinnvolles drin.

Ich würde jetzt mal die Logs nach eventuellen Fehlern durchsuchen, aber das wird dir nicht viel bringen, da du ja von der Materie nicht so viel Ahnung hast.
Also ich würde, wenn es nicht dringend ist, einfach warten bis Tomek wieder erreichbar ist oder ihn aus dem Bett klingeln... ;)

Meist fällt einen dann der Grund schon entgegen!

Also was steht den in der /var/log/vsftpd.log und /var/log/messages ?

Danke Dir erstmal, hoffe er ist morgen online.... weil meine das Problem war schomal da, dass nach einem Reboot der FTP-Server nicht mehr lief.... :D

Hmmm , muss ich jetzt auch passen , mir fällt nix auf ausser deinen Loginversuchen auf dem vsftpd bis 0.48 Uhr.
Allerdings wundert es mich das das überhaupt protokoliert wurde, da der Dienst ja anscheinend nicht läuft!
Poste mal bitte die Ausgabe von netstat -tulpen

Zur xferlog , da würden die letzten 20 Zeilen reichen.
Bezüglich das die Datei bereits 90MB gross ist kannst du Tomek mal mitteilen diese mit in logrotate aufzunehmen.

Da scheint aber doch noch etwas zu laufen?!
Führe mal ein /etc/init.d/vsftpd restart aus und schau danach in der /var/log/daemon.log nach, ob dort was vermerkt wird.
