Opensuse / Vmware Zeitproblem

Hallo,

ich habe auf einer Opensuse einige Gastsysteme laufen.
Die Gastsysteme laufen von der Zeit stark hinterher.
Und zwar etwa 10 Sekunden pro Minute.

Ich habe hier: http://kex.cc/2006/10/03/vmware-tickt-falsch/
auch schon was gefunden.

Was habt Ihr für Ideen dazu?

falls das nichts nützt, kann ich dir noch eine paar angaben heraussuchen, die ich unter ESX mal machen musste
aber die tools sollten das hier beheben

Ich möchte an dieser Stelle auf dieses Dokument (http://www.vmware.com/pdf/vmware_timekeeping.pdf) verweisen. Das erklärt ganz gut die Zusammenhänge.

VMware-Tools machen auf jeden Fall Sinn in einer VM, da diese dann auch die Zeit mit dem Host synchron hält.

Hallo,

vielen Dank für die guten Tipps. Der Artikel von Vmware ist sehr interessant.

Auf einer ganz kleinen Kiste, auf der nur Cacti läuft, habe ich es jetzt etwas anders gelöst. Ich synchronisiere das jetzt über Zeitserver und Client. So musste
ich nur ein paar Kb zusätzlich installieren.

Auf dem Mailserver, der auch auf der virtualiserten Umgebung läuft, werde
ich wohl die Vmware Tools installieren.

Klar, NTP Server und Client ist eine Möglichkeit. :)
