ich benötige die gdlib. wie mache ich das am besten?

habe debian 3.1 ,apache2

Nein ist es nicht! Kannst du dort nicht lesen?
Hast du zuvor auch aptitude update ausgeführt?

sorry, kenne mich nicht sher gut damit aus.

habe aptitude update gemacht und anschließend

aptitude install php4-gd php5-gd

.habe server restartet und nun will er, wenn ich das forum aufrufen will, die php dateien runterladen anstatt sie zu öffnen. was kann ich da tun?
ich habe jetzt anstatt nur den apache2 ordner , auch noch einen apache ordner bekommen auf dem vserver.

müsste die richtige sein.

und warum habe ich nach dem "aptitude update" 2apache ordner? einmal apache2 und einmal apache. hatte vorher nur apache2 ordner.
und ich hatte sonst nur php4, jetzt zusätzlich php5 drauf^^ hätte wohl nur "aptitude install php4-gd" machen sollen^^

Wäre keine schlechte Idee gewesen - vor dem Abtippen von Befehlszeilen immer erst mal nachdenken (und verstehen), was die denn machen...

Für alle, die's interessiert: anscheinened habe ich versehentlich 2 Apache-Pakete installiert (fragt nicht wie), es befanden sich "apache" und "apache-perl" auf dem System - habe kurzerhand "apt-get remove apache-perl" und "dpkg -P apache-perl" und alles geht wie es gehen soll.

kann ich das so rückgängig machen, nur halt eben das "perl" weglassen?da ich ja vorher nur apache2 hatte ,und jetzt auch den ordner "apache" habe. bevor ich das versuche, muss ich erst mal nachfragen^^

sorry, es kann nicht jeder son profi sein wie du. nicht jeder hat die zeit das ganze zeugs durchzustudieren. ich brauche nur hilfe um gdlib zu installieren, habe auch ordentliche antwort bekommen, jedoch klappt das nicht so wie es klappen sollte. kenn mich mit den ganzen befehlen und so net so aus wie du. also reagier bitte net so genervt, mich nervt das ganze auch das des net so klappt -.-

Aber ich stehe auf dem Standpunkt, dass Du hier Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe erhältst. Und dafür ist mein Posting ideal geeignet. Oder willst Du bei jedem Problem, das Du hast hier einen eigenen "ich habe einen Root-Server und keine Ahnung davon"-Thread mit abgewandelten Überschriften starten?

Verdammt noch mal - Du hast Dir das aufgehalst und solltest schleunigst daran gehen, Dir die notwendigen Kentnisse anzueignen. Auto-Vergleiche lasse ich nun mal, ich fürchte, die bringen eh nichts.

hast recht was die kenntnisse angeht.
ich brauch nur hilfe das der mir wieder die php dateien anzeigt und der gdlib, mehr nicht. vorher lief ja alles korrekt, bis zu dem zeitpunkt mit apt-get update.
seitdem will der eben die php datein runterladen anstatt sie zu öffnen. wenn das zuviel kenntniss erfordert, würd ich es lieber sein lassen und rückgängig machen, da ich nicht so sehr die zeit habe mir auf die schnelle die kenntnisse anzueignen. am besten lernt man ja bekanntlich von anderen^^

Nein kann nicht jeder, aber nicht jeder ist so dreist sich einen Rootserver zu mieten und dann von Forenmitgliedern
fertige Lösungen Schritt-für-Schritt zu verlangen!
Hast Du den Link aus #4 gelesen den ich gepostet habe?
Dort steht genug Lesestoff für Dich drin und ich meine damit nicht die Belehrung und zwar die Verweise auf die Lektüre!

Falsch! apt-get update hat lediglich die Paketquellen aktualisiert!
Den Fehler hast Du danach verursacht in dem du was installiert hast mit apt-get install ...

da ich nicht so sehr die zeit habe mir auf die schnelle die kenntnisse anzueignen. am besten lernt man ja bekanntlich von anderen^^
Klar lernt man besser von anderen, aber nicht mit einen Rootserver! Kapiere das doch mal!
Da Du nicht viel Zeit hast und anscheinent so gut wie keine Grundkenntnisse hast, rate ich dir ein Managed-Server zu mieten.

die libphp4.so ist in einem anderen ordner.
Naja, wie es zu lösen wäre sollte ja trivial sein - entweder die Datei wandert an die richtige Stelle oder in der Konfig wird sie von der richtigen Stelle gelesen. Welche Lösung Du wählst überlasse ich gerne Dir...
