Samba Passwort ändern

Hallo,

Grunsätzlich vergebe ich bei Suse 10.1 oder 2 immer das selber Passwort
um sicher zu sein das nicht vergessen wird.

Samba funzt mit Win XP so:

An beiden PC sind Samba und Win zu sehen und nur Win funzt prima.
Samba verlangt bei beiden PC's Benutzername und Passwort und alles
was ich eingebe ist nicht richtig.

Mit smbpasswd in Konsole bekomme ich meldung:

New SMB password:milan
Retype new SMB password:milan
Faild to find entry for user root
Faild to modify passwort entry for user root

Wie kann ich bei Suse Benutzername und smbpasswd noch ändern bitte!

hast du auch den sambauser angelegt? für mich sieht das so aus als würde der gar keinen eintrag für deinen user finden, dann kann er natürlich auch kein passwort setzen

Der Benutzer milan muss auch unter Linux existieren
ansonsten wären auch ein paar mehr Details nützlich

1. Nutzer muss unter Linux auch existieren
2. Der User muss mittels "smbpasswd -a" erst eingetragen werden.
3. der Pfad zu diener smbpasswd datei muss in der smb.conf Datei eingetragen sein.
4. ansonsten beim einloggen auf case sensitive achten.
man smbpasswd hilft auch weiter .)

Hi janvolz,

Ich habe Samba gelöscht und neu Installiert/Konfiguriert ohne ein passwort zu vergeben
und die alte Ärger (verlangt nach benutzername+paswort) ist noch da!

smb.conf kann ich nicht ändern bzw.speichern.

Bei alte Suse funzte Samba auch ohne abfrage, kein Benutzername und Passwort
und so möchte ich Samba wieder haben.
Kannst du mir helfen?
