nun der Xte Thread zu diesem Theme...
Hab das Problem schon seit 2 Wochen... google auch schon so lange und hab schon fast alle Foren und deren Beiträge durch aber immer mit dem selben Ergebniss..
Also folgendes... mein neues NB Fusi S7110 hat net Intel Karte drin, bei der ich nur 1024x768 fahren kann (Auflösung kann es aber 1400x1050)

hilft leider auch nicht...im SAX hab ich die Auflösung richtig einstellen können, aber beim Testen dann zeigt er mir nur die 1024x768 an..
Was kann das noch sein?

In den meisten Forenbeiträgen, die Du ja gelesen hast, wird nach dem Inhalt der /etc/X11/xorg.conf und der Ausgabe von "egrep 'WW|EE' /var/log/Xorg.0.log" gefragt. Poste die mal hierher, bitte verwende die code-Tags aus meiner Signatur.

Mal als Versuchsballon: Kommentier die gesamte Section Modes mal aus (ein # vor die Zeilen setzen), ebenso die Zeile UseModes in der Section Monitor und trag in der Section Monitor eine Modeline für 1400x1050 ein. Sieht dann so aus:

Habs grad probiert... X Server restartet, aber leider ohne erfolg.. Trotzdem danke...Nach einer Änderung an der xorg.conf könnten sich die Meldungen geändert haben. Also wirf doch mal einen Blick ins Log...
Mehr als Experimentieren fällt mir, wie gesagt, nicht ein. Dann sollte man aber nicht nur "ohne Erfolg" feststellen sondern das Ergebnis der vorgenommenen Änderungen ansehen und mit dem Zustand davor vergleichen.

So, diese Problem wäre gelöst.. Der Treiber ließ sich installieren..
Jetzt hab ich allerdings noch immer nicht die gewünschte Auflösung..
