USB-HD an Intel 6300ESB-Chipsatz / Suse 9.3

Habe hier ein paar Server unter Suse 9.3 (Minimalinstallation, alle Patches) laufen und muss über eine externe USB-HD ein paar Daten aufspielen.

Problem: die HD wird nicht erkannt -

Mehr kommt nicht - weder in irgendwelchen Logfiles noch sonst wo. Die Platte an sich tut (auf einem anderen Server wird sie sofort erkannt, "dummerweise" hat der einen anderen Chipsatz drin)...

Google hat mich irgendwie nicht so recht weitergebracht - oder ich bin nur etwas blind heute morgen...

Jemand 'ne Idee, wie ich das Ding zum laufen bekomme? Ach ja - Distri steht fest, an der Kiste rumbauen geht nicht und Daten über Netz kopieren ist leider nicht machbar...
