Immer wenn das System inkl. KDE hochfährt bekomme ich diese Meldung von meinem Monitor "Out of Range".

Die xorg.conf habe ich mit den Werten des Monitors gefütter also :

Zuvor standen dort Auflösungen und Frequenzgänge drinne, die der Monitor definitv nicht konnte. Gibt es etwas was ich übersehen habe, oder ist xorg.conf nicht die einzige anlaufstelle für die Ansteuerung des Monitors ?

- Welche Distri?
- Weche Xorg-Version?
- Welche Graka?
- Treiber?
- Monitor-Typ (TFT,CRT)

Betriebsystem ist Debian Etch
Xorg - keine Ahnung wo steht das ?
Grafikkarte ist irgendeine Intel Standard-onBoard-Karte (läuft als vesa)
Treiber ? Gute frage ...
Monitor ist ein benq 17Zöller LCD (FP71G)

Der Rechner ist ein Server, wo KDE 3.5? installiert wurde damit der nxserver laufen kann. Wenn ich mich über den nxserver anmelde - kein problem. Am Server selbst bekomme ich aber immer "out of Range" und ich weis nicht aus welcher Ecke das kommt.

dann haengt "out of range" sicher mit diesem bereich zusammen. was fuer einen tft hast du genau? standen die werte auf der rueckseite oder im handbuch? ich finde die werte eher komisch fuer einen tft

wenn der tft 75hz kann dann mal die werte probieren.

Nee, das will er auch nicht.

Meine Güte ist der Monitor aber zickig :)

Die Frequenzen habe ich von der Herstellerseite - ich vertraue da dem Hersteller.

Ich bin jetzt ins Wochenende, ich kann erst am Montag wieder am Server basteln. Ich danke für die Hilfe und schau am Monatg wieder mal rein !

wie siehts mit der max aufloeung aus? kann der 1280x1024? das waere die letzte idee die ich habe.

PS: 'Xorg -version' gibt die xorg version aus

Mit lspci bekomme ich folgenden VGA Controller : ATI Technologies Inc Rage XL (rev 27)

Die Herzzahl des LCD-Monitors ist mehr ehrlich gesagt egal. 60Hz ist das Minimum und zur Administration völlig ausreichend.

Was mich imemr wieder verwundert, warum tilt der Monitor bei der ANsteuerung mit "Out of Range" ?

Vielleicht, weil er einfach keine 1280x1024 kann? Probier's doch mal mit 1024x768...

Der Monitor kann das. Ich bin kein DAU (meistens)..

Das ist der erste Rechner/Server der mit mir dieses Spiel macht. Die Auflösungen waren bei der Installation falsch angegeben worden, das sollte eigentlich nach der xorg.conf Änderung keine Rolle mehr spielen, oder nicht ?

"out of range" bedeutet - so weit ich weiss - eigentlich das der monitor mit den werten nicht klar kommt (z.b. halt zu hohe hz oder aufloesung)

doch da der tft mit diesen laufen muesste, kann ich nur vorschlagen mal den grafiktreiber zu installieren. sonst habe ich keine weiteren ideen.


Die Herzzahl des LCD-Monitors ist mehr ehrlich gesagt egal.
dir ist es egal, aber wen der monitor keine 75 koennte aber mit 75 angesteuert wird, spielt er da nicht mit, da ist es ihm also auch egal ob es dir egal ist :p

Ich werde mal den Treiber "reinhauen".. :ugly:

Mal schauen, ob sich dann das ganze reorganisiert. Der Monitor läuft über einen Switch mit insgesamt drei Systemen zusammen und mach nur auf diesem Server die Macken - immer diese ABM-Massnahmen :rolleyes:

Ich melde mich wegen dem Ergebniss nochmal.

ein KVM dazwischen? Dann schliesse den Monitor mal direkt an - manchmal wirkt das Wunder...

Also, ich habe jetzt etwas herumprobiert und der X Server steuert den Monitor scheinbar ständig mit 76Hz an. Wenn ich die Auflösung auf 1024x stelle, bekomme ich KDE auch zu gesicht, was natürlich bei einer nativen Auflösung von 1280x mehr als Matschig aussieht.

1280x1024 mit 76Hz will der Monitor einfach nicht machen und in der Konf gibt es nur durch "Umwege" die Möglichkeit die Konfiguration anzupassen.

Das was du suchst, bzw. benötigst ist ein Modeline-Tool (gibts auch online). Die SuFu dürfte auch was zum Thema ausspucken.

Achtung! Das ist nur ein Beispiel (aus meiner xorg.config, denn mein LG hat kein DVI und das Bild ohne Modeline war um ein paar Cm nach rechts verrutscht).

Ich bekomme damit auch die gleiche Fehlermeldung.

Ich habe in einem Thread gelesen, das man mit xrandr den Monitor auslesen kann. Selbst da bekomme ich immer die Meldung "Can't open display".

Ich habe den Monitor mit viel aufwand direkt an den Server gestöpselt, damit nicht doch der Switch schuld sein kann, aber das Ergebniss ist das gleiche.

Kann es sein, das dieser Monitor nicht Linux tauglich ist ?? *verwirr*

Nimm einen anderen Treiber, als den vesa - Der funktioniert bei mir auch nicht...

Sobald ich den Treiber gegen nv ersetzt hatte, läuft es wieder ;) Sollte bei dir auch der Fall sein... Falls du keine nVidia Grafikkarte hast, nimm den jeweils für dich richtigen Treiber :)

Es handelt sich bei meiner Graka um eine ATI Rage XL. Ich habe einige Treiber für ATI gefunden : radeon, atimisc und r128. Keine der Treiber wird geladen, wobei der r128 eigentlich der richtige Treiber ist - er wird aber nicht geladen.

Die Fehlermeldung kann ich euch erst am Montag posten, wenn ich vor der Kiste "hänge".

"Driver "vesa"" <-- mal durch "Driver "fglrx"" ersetzt? das meinte hp-tux damit. der treiber muss in der xorg.conf bekannt sein da er nicht selber erkennen kann welchen du brauchst :)
