Hallo!
Ich habe eine Frage:
Ich hab euer Ndiswrapper tutorial ausprobiert, das ist allerdings nicht gegangen, daraufhin hab ich die version von opensuse.de ausprobiert, das ist gegangen.
also momentan schauts so aus:
alle packages installiert
ndiswrapper installiert
wg111 treiber installiert
mein problem: wenn ihc in der konsole unter root den befehl "ndiswrapper -l" eingebe, dann kommt diese meldung:

mit dem nvidia treiber hab ich auch noch ein riesiges problem:

angeblich sollte das die meldung sein, dass ich die grafische oberfläche abschalten muss, um das installieren zu können.
nur wie mahc ihc das?
mit dem befehl der mir gesagt wurde,
/etc/init.d/gdm stop
gehts nicht, da steht dann dass
GDM already active ist...
hoffentlich könnt ihr mir helfen,

Hi,
leider fehlen bei deinem Post einige relevante Informationen.
Es wäre sehr hilfreich wenn du angeben würdest welche Distribution du verwendest und nach welchem Tutorial du vorgegangen bist um ndiswrapper zu installieren.
Was dein nvidia-Problem angeht: Auf opensuse.org gibt es einen sehr ausführlichen Artikel zur Installation des Treibers [1]. Ist allerdings auf OpenSUSE zugeschnitten. Je nach Distribution ist eine andere Vorgehensweise erforderlich.
Ohne weitere Informationen ist es jedenfalls eher schwer bis unmöglich dir zu helfen ;)

tschuldigung, total vergessen zu erwähnen.
ich verwende Open SuSe 10.2, habs mir von der homepage runtergeladen und gebrannt, so wie beschrieben.
das problem mit dem suse faq für den nvidia treiber ist, dass ich das nicht mit yast machen kann, da yast meine 8800 gts nicht erkennt, also geht das nicht, und die manuelle installation per konsole von version <10.0 geht ja nicht, odeR?
ndiswrapper hab ich nach dem suse faq installiert per yast2, generell alles mit yast gemacht, aber irgendwie will das nicht so wie es sollte... fehler stehn oben!

so, ich hab jetzt per bootmanager in runlevel 3 gewechselt, dort dann den treiber installiert nach dem FAQ aus dem "linux-club.de".
allerdings wenn ich da dann init 5 eingebe, dann werd ich von dem sax2 gefragt ob das so passt, ich klick okay, dann blackscreen, nach 5min immer noch nix getan außer alle paar minuten ein peep aus dem lautsprecher im pc...
ich geh zurück ins linux (grafische oberfläche mein ihc), da dann wenn ich eingebe modprobe nvidia passts, wenn ihc dann sax2 -m 0=nvidia eingebe, lädt er das, sagt dass die konfiguration bereits vorhanden ist.
ich geh daraufhin ins yast rein, will die auflösung auf 1280x1024 umstellen, hab meinen monitor ausgewählt, die zoll und verhältnisse ausgewählt usw, und dann klick ich okay, testen -> blackscreen, wie oben beschrieben!
was mach ich falsch...?

D3D unterstützung hab ihc KEINE, weil ich laut linux eine "Vesa" grafikkarte installiert habe, und Sax2 meine 8800er nicht erkennt...
mit welchem befehl kann ihc das nvidia tool starten?

D3D-Unterstützung wirst du auch nie bekommen ( du meinst vermutlich OpenGL ) ;)
Allerdings ist da wohl etwas schiefgelaufen - es sieht so aus als würde bei dir der Vesa-Treiber genutzt ( und das ist wohl nicht Sinn der Sache ).
Gib doch mal bitte "glxgears" ein ( falls nicht installiert, installiere es schnell ) und poste die Ausgabe hier.

Wenn du dich auf die Anleitung beziehst: Dort steht sinngemäß "Version 10.0 oder älter oder manuelle Installation.". Du kannst also selbstverständlich auch unter OpenSUSE 10.2 den Treiber manuell installieren. Das steht aber auch in der Anleitung. Ich weiß nicht welche Version des Treibers in Yast verfügbar ist, evtl. ist die einfach zu alt. Mit der neuesten Version des nvidia-Treibers sollte deine Karte aber zusammenarbeiten. Denke aber daran vorher über Yast den nvidia-Treiber zu deinstallieren, sonst könnte es Konflikte geben.
ich werde das system heut neu aufsetzen, weil ich vermute, dass ich mir alles "kaputt-installiert" hab, wenn ich dann das ganze mit euren anleitungen nochmal gemacht hab, dann werd ich mich wieder melden, hoffentlich gehts jetzt :rolleyes:

so, ich hab jetzt das suse neu aufgesetzt, und jetzt hab ich was festgestellt:
yast erkennt beim hardwareerkennen am schluss vom setup schon die graka als VESA karte!!!
Ja, das liegt daran dass dieser Chipsatz noch relativ neu ist und deshalb nicht auf Anhieb korrekt erkannt wird - in dem Fall nutzt SUSE automatisch den vesa-Treiber, der mit so ziemlich allen Grafikkarten zusammenarbeitet.

Den nvidia-Treiber? Was sagt denn glxinfo?

Gibt es für die Netgear-Karte vielleicht einen nativen Treiber? Welche Schritte genau hast du denn bei der Installation von ndiswrapper unternommen?
Was wird in die Logfiles geschrieben wenn du die WLAN-Karte einsteckst ( kannst du mit "tail -f /var/log/messages" bzw. "dmesg" überprüfen ).

ich hab das ndis über yast2 isntalliert --> yast starten, pw eingeben, gesucht nach ndiswrapper, dann hab ihc das packet "ndiswrapper" installiert - hätt ich die andern packete auch instlalen sollen?
ich habs wieder versucht -nach einem weiteren reinstallen hab ich das erste mal erfolge verzeichnen können - endlich....

bei glxgears drehen sich 3 zahnräder
bei glxinfo kommt ne fette tabelle und viel text, ich werd sie dann posten, muss erst noch ins windows umloggen (schreib vom laptop aus).
glxgears ist erstmal nicht relevant, war ein Vertipper meinerseits.
Die Ausgabe von "glxinfo" hingegen sieht sehr gut aus, der nvidia-Treiber scheint korrekt zu funktionieren.
Wichtig sind die folgenden beiden Zeilen ( falls du mal wieder vor so einem Problem stehst:
direct rendering: Yes
server glx vendor string: NVIDIA Corporation
Was den ndiswrapper angeht liegt wohl ein Problem mit den Treibern vor:
ndiswrapper (check_nt_hdr:153): kernel is 64-bit, but Windows driver is not 64-bit;bad magic: 010B

Ich benutze wie gesagt keinen ndiswrapper, allerdings ist die Meldung ja sehr eindeutig: Du nutzt einen 64bit-Kernel und möchtest einen 32bit-Treiber verwenden, was fehlschlägt. Du benötigst also die 64bit-Windowstreiber für deinen WLAN-Adapter - sofern es die gibt. Falls nicht hast du ein Problem.
Deshalb an dieser Stelle eine Anmerkung: Ich persönlich halte eine 64bit-Distribution für momentan nicht notwendig, vielmehr gibt es noch einige bekannte Probleme ( z.B. mit dem Flashplayer-Plugin für den Firefox ) und wie in deinem Fall mit den WLAN-Treibern. Ich würde deshalb, auch auf einem 64bit-System, eine 32bit-Distribution einsetzen und tue dies auch ( habe selbst einen Core 2 Duo und nutze ihn unter einem 32bit-Slackware ).
Allerdings gibt es für das Flash-Problem einen Workaround ( Stichwort: chroot ) und wenn du Glück hast gibt es auch 64bit-Treiber für deine Karte, dann kannst du dir eine erneute Installation sparen ;)

Ok, die Logs sind nicht wirklich aufschlußreich. Wie gesagt - schau mal ob es für deine Karte einen 64bit-Treiber gibt. Ist dies nicht der Fall sieht es düster aus. Dann bleibt dir nur die theoretische Hoffnung dass es für die Karte einen nativen Treiber gibt.
Ich habe mal schnell Google angeworfen und bin auf [1] gelandet - ist das dein USB-WLAN-Stick?
Falls ja gibt es eine gute und eine schlechte Nachricht.
Die schlechte Nachricht ist, dass es keinen 64bit-Treiber dafür zu geben scheint den du mit dem ndiswrapper nutzen kannst; die gute Nachricht ist, dass es scheinbar einen nativen Treiber gibt [2]. Allerdings habe ich keinen blassen Schimmer wie man den einbindet und scheinbar braucht man da eine ganze Menge Patches dafür [3].

ich hab jetzt das 64bit linux deinstalliert und die 32bit version raufgeschnalzt.
ich hab den 32bit treiber runtergeladen und mit dem ndiswrapper installiert, und hab jetz folgendes problem:
er hat alles perfekt reibungslos installiert - passt alles, aber:
ich hab jetz ndiswrapper -l eingegeben, und da steht dann das da:
netwg111: driver installed
aber nix von hardware oder sonst...
wenn ich lsusb eingebe, dann seh ich meinen usb stick am 2er port hängen, also angesteckt wäre er.
mein wlan stick heißt WG111v2, ist aber identisch mit dem WG111 somit : ja, link 1 ist mein stick.
also jetzt hätte ich das 32bit system installiert, bitet nur noch die tipps geben, die aufs 32er system funktioniern! danköö

Blöde Frage, aber ist das ndiswrapper-Modul überhaupt geladen? ( nachzusehen per "lsmod" - da müsste es dann auftauchen ).
Falls nicht lade es mal ( "modprobe ndiswrapper" - als Root ) und schau dann nach ( z.B. per iwconfig ) ob es ein Gerät namens wlan0 o.Ä. gibt ).

ich hab eine Fritzbox (router), einen netgear Accesspoint und mehrere pcs am accesspoint per wlan hängen.
gesichert ist das ganze durch einen 160(?) bit schlüssel (10 stellig, zahlen und buchstaben --> ascii, oder?). ich bin mir nicht sicher, obs funzt mit linux, weil:
ich laut suse keine wep unterstützung mehr habe (weils angeblich veraltet ist.............................), und nur noch WPA oder sowas in der art gibt. ich geb dann zwar rechtsunten bei WEP-Schlüssel meinen wep schlüssel ein, allerdings hilft das auch nix, weil der client-stick einfach nicht so geht wie er gehn soll (z.b. per iwconfig)
könnte es eine lösung sein den WEP schlüssel zu deaktivieren --> die schützung von der aussenwelt runternehmen, testweise, damit man dann schaut obs geht? is das ein grund, dass bei mir das alles verrückt spielt?

Ok, das müsste eigentlich soweit erstmal passen, sofern ich das beurteilen kann ( wie gesagt - nutze keinen ndiswrapper ). Sehr seltsam dass das Gerät dann nicht auftaucht... was passiert denn jetzt wenn du den Stick einsteckst, d.h. was schreibt er in die Logfiles? Schau mal bitte per "dmesg" & Co. nach.

Prinzipiell würde ich kein WEP mehr einsetzen, dieser "Schutz" ist schlicht unsicher. Allerdings glaube ich nicht dass dein Problem etwas mit der Verschlüsselung zu tun hat - das Gerät würde nämlich in jedem Fall per "iwconfig" angezeigt werden. Zudem kann ich mir nicht vorstellen dass Suse neuerdings den Einsatz von WEP verbietet, das wäre mir neu.
Wie gesagt, poste mal die relevanten Teile der Logfiles nach dem Einstecken des Sticks, ich denke dann ist man evtl. schlauer.

WEP ist nur solange sicher genug bis auch für den DAU einfach zu bedienende "Klicki-Bunti-Tools" verfügbar sind. Bereits jetzt kann eigentlich jedermann ohne große Sachkenntnisse, mit passender WLAN-Karte und zweier Programme ein WEP-Netz innerhalb weniger als einer Stunde knacken. Dazu braucht man dank diverser verfügbarer Live-CDs und dutzender Anleitungen die die Vorgehensweise Schritt für Schritt erläutern nicht mal großartig Linux-Kenntnisse ( zumal es für Windows afaik auch entsprechende Tools gibt ).
IMO ist es deshalb fahrlässig heute noch WEP einzusetzen wenn man nicht zwingend darauf angewiesen ist weil z.B. die Hardware noch kein WPA kann.
Und Komfort geht mit WPA auch nicht verloren.

Ja, aber was steht denn da wenn du dmesg eingibst bzw. welche Ausgaben entstehen wenn du per tail -f /var/log/messages die Ausgabe nach dem Einstecken des Sticks ansiehst?
Das sind die wichtigen Ausgaben; lsusb ist in dem Fall völlig uninteressant.
Hast du mal "ndiswrapper -m" ausprobiert wie in dem von dir verlinkten Tutorial vorgeschlagen wurde? Das wird nämlich u.A. unter [1] erwähnt und dürfte wohl das fehlende Puzzlestück sein. Allerdings würde ich erstmal in die Logfiles schauen - meistens findet sich hier des Rätsels Lösung und man muss nicht wild rumprobieren ( wovon ich eh nicht viel halte ).

das Problem steht ja - wie vermutet - recht ausführlich in den Logfiles.
Habe mal Google bemüht und dabei herausgefunden dass man offensichtlich besser den Win98-Treiber in Verbindung mit ndiswrapper nutzt.
Ergo: Treiber deinstallieren ( wichtig! ) und den von Win98 benutzen; falls es damit auch nicht klappt bitte nochmal die Logfiles hier posten.
