WLan: Intel PRO wireless, Treiber ipw3945

Hallo,

beim Starten läßt mein Notebook das eingebaute WLan ausgeschaltet. Schalte ich es manuell per Knopfdruck ein erkennt das knetworkmanager irgendwie nicht und zeigt keine Netze an. (WLan LED blinkt ganz langsam) Ich muss immer als root rcnetwork restart aufrufen, dann funktioniert alles problemlos. (WLan LED flackert schnell)

Ich hätte es nun gerne so, dass Linux das Einschalten der Karte erkennt, und knetworkmanager die verfügbaren Netze automatisch anzeigt. Irgendwie muss das gehen, denn bei einer alten Testinstallation war es genau so als default nach dem Setup. Nur hab ich vor kurzem alles neu installiert und nun bekomm ich es nicht mehr hin.aaarrrgghhh! :)

Noch besser wäre allerdings, wenn Linux die Karte beim Hochfahren schon von alleine aktivieren würde, so dass ich mir das Einschalten sparen könnte. Hat jemand ne Idee?

Dann schalte das doch in yast ein ("Netzwerkkarte beim Booten aktivieren")

Na also so weit war ich selbst schon. ;) Ich hab aktivieren bei boot, bei cableconnection und bei hotplug erfolglos probiert. So trivial ist's dann doch nicht...

Deaktivier mal deine Netzwerkkarte oder zieh das Kabel ab. Parallel LAN und WLAN wird nix.

Am LAN ist nichts angeschlossen. Zudem wird die LAN Karte lt. Yast erst bei "cable connection" aktiviert. Die sollten sich also eigentlich nicht in die Quere kommen, oder?

Und zudem - Linux ist DAS Server-OS schlechthin - und soll mit zwei Neztwerkkarten nicht klarkommen??? Ich bin zwar noch nicht arg mit diesem OS vertraut, aber DAS fällt mir doch etwas schwer zu glauben. :)

Ich vermute eher das Problem liegt an der Initialisierung von knetworkmanager beim booten.

Hi

Dann habe ich mich oben wohl versehen, da eth1 eine IP-Adresse hat. Hab die Mac-Adressen durcheinander gebracht.
Trotzdem ist es keine schlaue Idee zwei Netzwerkadapter in einem Rechner im selben Netz zu betreiben. Mit Standardkonfigurationen wird das Probleme geben. Das hat nichts mit Linux zu tun.

danke für den Tipp, dann werd ich die Netze auf jeden Fall mal ändern. Sicher ist sicher. :)

Inzwischen bin ich soweit, dass ich den Fehler auf den networkmanager eingrenzen konnte. Ich denke es ist ein Bug, dass dieser eben einfach nicht mitbekommt, wenn die WLan-Karte verfügbar ist. Ich helfe mir jetzt insoweit, als dass ich halt jedesmal nachdem ich den Knopf gedrückt habe das Folgende aufrufe.
