Großes 'apt-get install'-Problem

Hallo erstmal an alle.
Ich habe seit geraumer Zeit ein Problem mit dem Befehl 'apt-get install'.
Immer wenn ich ihn ausführe kommen eine Menge Abhängigkeitsfehler, die ich allesamt nicht beheben kann...
Der Rechner ist ein VServer von Pretago mit Debian 3.1.

wenns nicht hilft was sagt apt-cache policy libc6?

was sagt cat /etc/debian_version

Bei 'apt-get -f install' will der sämtliche bereits installierte Pakete löschen.
Und ich sollte es nur machen, wenn ich mir 100%ig sicher bin, was ich da mache ...

dein problem ist, das jemannd dort einen mix aus verschiedenen trees gebaut hat, diesen kannst du nicht auflösen, da apt die benötigte libc6 nicht installieren kann.
dein problem wird nicht verschwinden. entweder nimmst du einen offfiziellen deb mirror mit etch - oder du setzt das system sauber mit debootstrap neu auf.

du hast schon mal die packetlisten erneuert oder? den deine benötigte version gibts nirgends
