Hallo alle zusammen!

Ich habe proftp auf meinem Server erfolgreich eingerichtet und es läuft soweit ganz gut. Das einzigste Problem ist noch, dass User die FTP benutzen wollen gleichzeitig einen Konsolenzugang benötigen. Setze ich in der /etc/passwd die Shell des Benutzers auf /bin/false kann er sich nicht mehr auf dem Server einloggen. Ist das Sinn und Zweck der Sache? Wie kann ich das abstellen, dass eine Shell benötigt wird?

Der Server wurde natürlich schon mehrfach rebootet.

ja, das Problem hast du mit /bin/false gelöst, was auch eine gängige Lösung ist. Oder war das gar nicht deine Frage?

Aha. Wofür ist diese Info?

EDIT: Alternativ ist auch eine Authentifizierung über LDAP möglich:

mit dem Eintrag:


RequireValidShell off

in der proftpd.conf kannst du es abstellen, dass eine Shell benötigt wird.
