probleme mit ati treiber...radeon 8500

hi

also ich habe eine radeon 8500 und habe den aktuellsten treiber von ati installiert! wenn ich nun versuche des control center zu öffnen klappt das auch jedoch bekomme ich eine mitteilung "driver does not provide the fire GL X11 extensions - Panel components will only work partially" und ich kann keine einstellungen in dem fenster vornehmen, da keine angezeigt werden!

irgendjemand eine idee?

Ändere mal den Treiber "Radeon" in "fglrx" um. Bei Section Device in der xorg.conf.

das hat leider nicht geklappt...der versuch endete darin, dass der xserver nicht mehr starten konnte...

Das ist keine gute Idee, die Radeon 8500 wird nur bis Version 8.28.8 das ATI-Treibers unterstützt, siehe hier (http://ati.amd.com/support/drivers/linux/radeonprevious-linux.html).

Der Treiber wurde garnicht oder falsch installiert. Zu dem Thema Treiber installieren, gibt es eine menge Howtos, einfach mal die SUFU benutzen oder googlen.

Ich habe ein ähnliches Problem mit den gleichen Auswirkungen - leider auch noch net gelöst. Aber vielleicht helfen Dir manche Lösungsansätze aus meinem thread.
