"copy+paste" mit mittlerer Maustaste funkitoniert nicht mehr

Hallo!
Ich arbeite mit SuSE 10.1 und bin Newbie - nur zur Info.
Folgendes Problem: Bisher konnte ich überall, v.a. in Open Office brauchte ich es, Texte markieren, dann waren sie im Klipper, und konnte sie dann durch Klicken mit beiden Maustasten gleichzeitig (wurde mir als gleichwertig mit der 3.Maustaste bei meinem Laptop empfohlen). Das fand ich sehr gut und praktisch. Problem: Jetzt geht e plötzlich nicht mehr.

Schau doch mal unter Yast > Hardware > "Mausmodel wählen" ob die 3-Tasten-Emulation aktviert ist. Wenn nein, einfach mal anhaken und den Rechner neu starten.

Ansonsten - welche Maus hast du denn? Eine externe oder ein Touchpad?
Falls du eine externe Maus mit einem Mausrad zum klicken hast würde ich dir die Mausradtaste (mittlere Taste) empfehlen.
Dann sollte aber die 3-Tasten-Emulation nicht aktiviert sein.

Also: Unter Yast war die 3-Tasten-Emulation aktiviert. Es geht trotzdem nicht.
Aber ich habe dabei die Entdeckung gemacht, dass es wohl am Kopieren liegen muss: Als ich den Rechner neu gestartet habe, konnte ich ein altes gespeichertes Wort durchs Drücken beider Maustasten einfügen. Aber wenn ich dann versuche, ein neues in der Zwischenablage zu speichern, geht es nicht mehr.

Ich benutze das Touchpad von meinem Notebook.

Kopieren per Markieren eines Textes funktioniert also nicht mehr, wenn du aber einen Eintrag im Klipper anklickst kannst du ihn per 3-Tasten-Emulation irgendwo einfügen?
Wie kommt denn der Text in den Klipper?
Einfach mal ins Blaue gedacht - lösch doch mal die ~/.kde/share/config/klipperrc und die ~/.kde/share/apps/klipper/history2.lst oder benenn sie um.

Evtl. versteckt sich das Problem ja da.

Also: Das Komische ist, dass wenn ich einen Text markiere, der dann auch im Klipper ist, wie ich festgestellt habe. Aber ich kann ihn nicht einfügen mit beiden Maustasten gleichzeitig.

Dann denke ich eher das du ein Problem mit deiner Konfiguration des X-Servers hast.
Denn in den Selektionspuffer wird ja noch kopiert - lediglich einfügen kannst du ihn nicht mehr.
Testen kannst du das, wenn du in der Konsole xev eingibst. Dann gehst du mit deiner Maus in das Fenster und drückst deine beiden Maustasten. Jetzt sollte sowas wie Button 2 (und jede Menge anderer Zeichen)in der Konsole erscheinen.
Wenn nicht ist was mit deiner Konfiguration faul.
Dann poste doch mal die /etc/X11/xorg.conf.

PS: Die beiden Dateien kannst du in der Konsole löschen. Das ~ steht immer für dein Homeverzeichnis, zb /home/deinname/. Ordner mit einem . davor sind immer versteckt.
Aber wie schon gesagt denke ich nicht mehr das es am Klipper liegt.

Wie ich an die /etc/X11/xorg.conf-Datei kommen soll, weiß ich nicht. Über die Konsole habe ich's nicht geschafft: Keine Berechtigung.
Übrigens funktioniert über "einfügen" alles wunderbar, deshalb denke ich auch, dass Du Recht damit hast, dass es nicht am Klipper liegt.

Ok, bekommst du auch bei den anderen Tasten Rückmeldungen? Also Button 1(linke Maustaste), Button 2(der Erscheint ja hier) und Button 3(rechte Maustaste)?
Testweise kannst du auch mal eine externe Maus anschließen, am besten mit Rad und USB.

Die xorg.conf solltest du als normaler Benutzer schon sehen/öffen können. Kopiere sie einfach mit dem Konqueror in dein Homeverzeichnis oder öffne sie und kopier den Inhalt hier rein(aber bitte mit CODE-Tags;))

xev gibt genau das aus, was ich sehen wollte und in der xorg.conf scheint auch kein Fehler zu sein.
Spontan fällt mir jetzt nichts mehr ein.
Hast du evtl. kürzlich irgendwelche Updates gemacht? Oder mit xmodmap herumgespielt? Tritt der Fehler auch bei anderen Benutzern auf?
Oder bei anderen Windowmanagern? Wie verhält sich eine andere Maus? Was zeigt die Xorg.0.log?
